Thanks for the pictures. So it would appear that the bed extender itself has the pin hole. And the extender is what locks in place. It holds the tailgate down.
I have over 500 miles on mine and can say the efficiency loss is minimal. They do make a whirling noise but not too much. They look awesome and aggressive.
I was able to get mine working again.
1. remove all keys
2. delete app from the phone
3. re install the app and log back in
4. add new key And backup password
I have had similar issues. I just spent couple hours trying to get PAAK working again. what I ended up having todo is delete the app from my phone. reset keys in truck. Install app again, login. Setup PAAK.

My PAAK stopped working about a month ago after switching app back to old version. So yesterday they forced the app to new version so I decided to reset the key and reconnect. Seemed to work fine setting up. But it doesn’t actually work. Tried twice. Still nada

This has been happening to me as well. Use to be perfect, now it is like every other connection audio is stuck. Require a disconnect on CarPlay and a reconnect.
