With the Mach-E, I've heard of updates showing up in FDRS that weren't actually compatible with the car and could cause issues if installed. Is that something we need to worry about with the Lightning too?
I wouldn't be surprised to be honest.
They didn't mention FDRS specifically. Their exact wording was "Because the Lightnings are so new, our laptops don't have the updated software to perform updates on them yet."
I asked them to call Ford engineering and they agreed and said they would give...
I took my July 12 build date Lightning in for service yesterday for a squeaky tailgate, and I also asked them to apply the latest software updates because PAAK doesn't work (that I knew were available thanks to @Mike G providing that info). They said they would take a look.
4 hours later and...
DM sent.
Sorry, I didn't mean to say the updates are hacked or anything. I just don't understand why they aren't rolling out if they're available. Ford may know something we don't.
But this is only because you've used FDRS to push the updates, right? I'm a 7/22 build date and in the same boat as everyone else - anxiously waiting for an official update to enable this.
I was considering this camera as well. It actually seems to be efficient enough that it can also be run from the mirror's power source, like OP's. You'll need this adapter: https://dongar.tech/products/16pin-ford-f150
Thanks! I have to admit that sticking coins in my brand new truck feels wrong, but I'm happy to see that there is a workaround. I'm going to see if my dealer can do anything about it.
Not sure if this is actually an issue or not, but I was surprised how “floppy” the center armrest is when open. As in, once open there is basically no resistance to it closing and it slams down aggressively on the smallest nudge.
Take a look.
I would love a way to disable the incredibly loud beeps when the frunk opens/closes. The frunk has so much potential, but I’m reluctant to use it in certain scenarios because of how loud it can be!
I have a platinum arriving in a few days and, like every other platinum, they have the 22" tires.
My understanding is that the larger tires are partially why platinums have a slightly lower EPA range vs other extended range versions (300 vs 320 miles), in addition to some extra cooling...
This makes sense, but I should also mention that they have verbally stated they’ll be enforcing the no-resale clause for 1 year after I purchase the truck. We’ll see if that’s actually true or if it was just a threat.
There’s nothing on the purchase order about it, but I’m assuming it’s a...
My apologies if this was already discussed elsewhere. I've seen inconsistent explanations around this and wanted to ask about it for my specific scenario.
Long story short, I have a platinum lightning coming in 8/11 - 8/17, according to the online tracker and dealer. I have the purchase order...
The biggest issue we see with that plan is insurance. I should mention my friend recently moved out of state. So we think it would be difficult for him to add me to his insurance, or for me to add my insurance to a vehicle I don’t own. But I would love to be proven wrong!
In a surprising turn of events, the dealer has agreed to sell the car to me directly, but with a 20k ADM. My friend had no ADM on his agreed to price.
I plan to negotiate with them on this, but if they aren’t willing to lower the markup to ~5k, I’m fully prepared to walk away.
I love the truck...
