I have been on the other side of this process. I had my truck bought back last week. The irony was when I got it back the last time from the shop I think it was more sorted than it has ever been. It will end up being a good buy for someone is my guess. I loved the truck.

Just to round out the conclusion of the story in case anyone needs to go through the same process. Ford did indeed buy back my 2022 Lariat ER. They were incredibly fair and because my issues started from the week I picked up the truck they paid me back 99% of the price I paid for the truck...
I got my truck back today!!! It went in on Feb 25th returned on April 24th.
I got confirmation yesterday that Ford have agreed to buy the truck back so I am now awaiting my offer. I think in CA that's a pretty formulaic affair so it's time to go buy a 2025 truck.
I am hoping I get BC1.4 and...
If you're bored of this story, honestly so am I.
So still no truck. Went in on 25th Feb for second occurrence of Powertrain Malfunction. So it's officially a month in the shop with no signs of it being returned. That's a total of 73 days (and counting) in the shop since delivery which is just...
Truck still not back. 3 weeks in shop and not sure when it’s coming back. Poor.
Ford still not made a decision on my buyback. They have 30 days to decide and look like they will take them all but not sure why on such an obvious case. ?‍♂️
Diagnosis complete and this time it is battery module 1 failure.
My guess is this will be fixed and quickly followed up by battery module (..n) failure.
It will be at least 8 days in shop so my running total of days is shop will reach at least 53 in 25 month period of ownership. ?
It’s back in for second occurrence of drive train malfunction less than 2 weeks after it was allegedly fixed.
The initiation of the buyback process was easy I just called Ford on (800) 392-3673 and told them I would like to start the process.
It doesn’t mean they will accept but at 45 days and...
I just initiated buyback with Ford. I got all my service paperwork together and in recalls and warranty fixes I’m now at a total of 45 days in the shop in a period of 25 months of ownership. It goes back again tomorrow so those days will climb for sure.
I love the truck when it’s working but...
Update on above with conclusion.
I got the truck back after 8 days at the dealer.
The fault was High Voltage Battery Radiator Coolant Diverter Valve which needed to be replaced. I have attached all the wording in the image.
After the fix the couldn't get the truck to start so they needed to...
Exact same issue with the Hankooks. 22k miles and all 4 tires have zero tread on inside and outside edges but 3/4 of the tread width with normal wear.
Dealer wants me to pay for alignment, but after reading this thread I need new tires not an alignment. Michelin Defenders seems to be the go to...
I’m shopping around now I’ll keep you posted.
best I’ve had to date is $3500 for 8yr/100000 premium. That’s from Ford Store, Morgan Hill.
I’m going to try and get more quotes.
I just had the same failure this week, hope we are not starting a trend. Truck is in the shop now and it’s going to take a week to fix. The failure notification in the app was
“Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power

When does walk away locking happen? Is that with the same software update as BC1.4 or is it included in 10.1.0 or is it a completely different software update in its own right that comes before or after BC1.4?
