For what it's worth, in case you are wondering about elevation change cost in range; in my pro a little over 400 ft of elevation gain is about 1 kwhr, so about 1% of the battery. Straight ratio of weights to adjust the potential energy cost if yours is heavier or lighter. Maybe you'll find...
I'm a little late to the party, but I live in Buffalo NY and the Lightning handled well enough for me all winter, even in our blizzard. Deepest snow I drove through was about a foot plus and it felt no different than my old 4x4. If you can drive in the snow in an ICE, you'll be just fine in...
I'm a NY Pro guy from December. I would have loved to save that $700 in tax! Hoping everything goes good for you, the first of us had a hell of a time and it seems Ford still hasn't been bothered to make clear what the process for the dealer should be. I can only image if they actually read...
Mine doesn't do it in the 50s, I'd say mid 40s it stops turning itself on. I do wish there was a way to not have it turn itself on regardless. Just because it is cold doesn't mean it is frosted over.
I have a sort of similar problem with my Pro . The birds keep hiding in those plastic wells attached to the frame over night. They poop all over it when I go to work in the morning. Worst of all, I've seen some grass pieces in there. I'm afraid if the weather warms up just a little more I'm...
To ask a very dumb question (because I would love to avoid my dealer at all costs), how do I know if I receive the update OTA? Dealer said it would be over 2 weeks till I can get in so I'd rather just reboot my truck over and over till I get it.
Ditto, never froze once even during the 2 freezing rain events we had. I agree with others that sometimes I have to push it twice to get it to close, but it has never been a problem to open for me. 🤷♂️
Not sure it helps other than solace, but mine failed after a week of ownership. The dealer had to fiddle with resetting it to get it to work again and it has been fine since. As you say there, my latch motor at least made noise though, your problem might be different.
That's exactly the same reason why I don't. I dont treat the truck with kid gloves, but I do respect the battery. I plan on having this truck till the WNY road salt claims it.
Call me nonsensical l, but I do that! ("freeze inside the cabin") however, I did that in my ICE truck too. My commute is quite short so my ICE was still cold by the time I got to work, I don’t bother heating the lightning either and save the range, I have a Pro so my anxiety will be even higher...
For you WNY guys who got stuck in the blizzard like me and don't park your truck in the garage I learned something; Don't park in line with the direction of the 2 day long 70mph+ winds because the LVB compartment is connected to the front where the louvers open and close... you might get some...
That is honestly my only complaint about the Lightning (other than my still broken "frunk" {hurk}). I wish I could have gotten a smaller cab with a 6'5 box like my old truck. I haul a range of stuff almost exclusively, my old truck had 1 adult in the back seat 1 time over it's 4 year life, the...
