I have a ChargePoint Home Flex that is rented from my utility as part of their off-peak charging program. I had it hard wired into my garage's panel and have been generally happy with it's performance. There have been a few nights when it's been plugged in and not charged when scheduled at...
I've definitely seen one (avalanche '23), maybe a second. There are either way more Rivians tooling around the Twin Cities or the Lightnings are just more stealthy. I wonder how much it has to do with Ford sending their electrics to different regions before the upper midwest.
Crossed paths with one on 55 in Golden Valley today. I think it was the first one I've seen in the wild--rivians seem a lot more common out here. I think it was an avalanche 23.
If I'd gotten an early '22 invite I probably would have ordered an ER. Soon as the price increase happened, I took a serious look at how I'd be using the truck and bought a SR. I've only used a DC fast charger once (on the drive home from the dealer). Even living in the tundra with the bitter...
I wouldn't bet on your ability to flip a truck right now. With the changes to the tax incentive, softening market, and increased numbers available it may not be a break-even proposition.
Similar situation here. Have about 1500 miles on my Lariat SR that I picked up in November. Kept the reservation open primarily to see when I'd get an invite, figure out exactly how much I saved myself putting in the legwork for a '22, and see whether the dealer I picked puts in any effort.
For...
I've had a similar experience. 140-150 mile range starting with a departure time every morning. Efficiency in the 2.0-2.3 ballpark when preconditioned, 1.5-1.8 when not.
Thanks for sharing that data. I've found my departure time to be hit-or-miss. About half the time the cabin will actually pre-warmed. I may be getting into the truck too early some times, so I've bumped my departure time up a few minutes to see whether that has any effect. Hope to start...
I have the same question. If my departure time is outside of a preferred charging time, will the battery still precondition? Similarly, if I remote start when it's plugged in outside of a preferred time, will it use AC or the battery to warm up?
Going to echo check what your utility's EV programs are. Mine (Xcel Energy) has a charging program with discounted rates for off-peak charging. The catch is you have to use one of their two charger options, which you can either rent or buy outright. Waiting on my charger install to relegate the...
How do preferred charge settings interact with departure times and remote start when the truck is plugged in? Does the truck draw down the battery if you're outside the preferred charging time? Or does the AC get used for preconditioning/heating the car?
Just got my lightning yesterday, kids love it so far. Our fleet is going to be the lightning + a 3-row ICE (CX-9) for when we need to haul more people or go on long road trips, so I appreciate where your wife is coming from on her car.
The suggestion to have your wife take a look at a super crew...
Thanks! It's good to have her home now and be done with the waiting game. 5/20 reservation holder, still haven't gotten my # called to order. Started stalking cars.com and other sites this summer, lucked into finding this Lariat SR in Iowa. Paid $5000 ADM to get her, but did so knowing that I'd...
Dealer said it would arrive on the 12th, but Ford chat is saying projected arrival of Nov 01 to 07 now. The truck is briefly closer to me than it is to the dealer--wish I could just roll down to the rail yard and pick the thing up. Fingers crossed for next week.
