I don't disagree, but this is the first I've seen someone be able to tap into the DRL from the truck without the canbus. If you find somewhere else better, let me know!
I assume he ran the front fender flare lights to the back too, but trying to get a follow up from him. Either way, running a wire slightly further to the tow hitch seems like it could be easier than canbus for something simple like DRLs.
Someone on Facebook discovered they can connect to the small brown wire in the 7 pin connector in the hitch to power (or activate with a switch) lights directly off of the trucks running lights.
I've been trying and failed to do this through FORScan too. I think there might've been a thread a bit ago that someone with an expertise on the circuit boards said you'd have to change the LED to accomplish this.
First occurrence was within the 2 years/24000 miles at around 1 year/15000 miles, lasting I think 9 days. Second occurrence was the the 2 days/224 miles past and lasted 13 days.
So yes, first occurrence was before the NJ law limit, but didn't hit the 20 cumulative days until the second...
Ford got back to my Lemon Law lawyers today. Offered $4000 for breach of warranty, said it doesn't qualify for Lemon Law because of it 2 days and 224 miles past 2 years/24000 miles of ownership (NJ guidelines are 2 years/24000 miles). Not sure there's any other option then, lawyers seemed to...
That's great, considering your work with the SwitchPro was admittedly inspiration to look into add-on lights and going down this rabbit hole! After adding the ditch lights onto mine, I couldn't stand the switch it came with and wanted something that was better quality, but a cheaper option than...
Relay box seems like it’s pretty solidly built. If I had to do it again, I could wire it up in less than 30 minutes, but learning along the way took me a bit longer. I couldn’t determine whether it was internally grounded or not, so I went ahead and grounded it to the battery with two 6 awg ring...
Just finished wiring up mine finally, I went in a slightly different direction with an aftermarket relay/fuse box to power everything.
Full parts used and costs are as follows:
Ford OEM Switch Assembly M2DZ-13D730-HA (eBay): $57.99
Ford OEM Wire Assembly WPT-1401 (OEM Parts Online): $71.75...
Thanks for this! I'll give it another week and see if this is the case! I went ahead and charged to 100% on Friday instead of my usual 90% and it didn't seem to have the issue. So hopefully it's just as you said.
Damn, I just noticed this issue happening to myself this week after noticing that the battery % was consistently showing 2-3% lower than the original estimate on it's first drive after being on the charger to and from work. Meaning that on the way there it was 2-3% less than estimated and at...
Thanks for reading up more on this relay/fuse block. I haven't been able to install it yet, just had to take my truck in to have a powertrain fault fixed again. If I'm reading into the reviews correctly, they're saying that the switches are activated by the 12V accessory right? But yes, I...
Just had to drop my truck off for the second time now with this issue, confirmed to again be a battery module failure and an estimated two weeks for a new one to arrive. Pretty bummed that I was right about it being a battery issue again.
Regarding lemon laws, does it backdate to the first time...
On the regular F-150 forum a member figured it out here, it appears that we have a similar setup with the DRL's also functioning as turn signals. I tried these values in Forscan but didn't have any success.
