I will buy it if it came out of a Lightning. How do I proceed from here? My’22is not giving me trouble but I don’t want to have to switch to a rotary. If you can send me an invoice with paypal info, I will pay you that way. ([email protected])
The problem with winning a lawsuit to compel a dealer to sevice a Lightning is, do you really want your truck to be serviced by that dealer anyway. Not me.
I bought mine from Burdick Ford in Central Square, NY (just N of Syracuse). They have been very happy to work on my Lightning and I strongly recommend them. I have heard that Romano Ford sells but does not service Lightnings. I have seen Lightnings with Romano license plate frames parked...
Following up, we charge both vehicles, one with the Tesla HPWC on a 240 volt 60 amp breaker and the other on the Ford 240 volt with a 100 amp breaker. I stagger the starting times for the two vehicles by 15 minutes. This is at a house that only has 200 amp service. Been doing this for over 2...
We use NG’s time of use plan all use between 11pm and 7am. That means we pay about 5 cents/kw. The special tou meter was free and the rate applies to all use, whether it is to charge our Lightning, our Tesla, or to run our dishwasher or dryer. At the time we signed on, the special electric...
I too have a ‘22 Lariat ER. I believe these have features that newer models don’t. The only real trouble I had was mouse damage to some wires. Now I keep it treated with peppermint oil and had Honda capuscion tape applied too. It is quieter than my Tesla and has a great standard equipment...
Skip the cover. Ford does great at painting. When I sold my 2013 F150 to get the Lightning, 10 uncovered years and about zero washes, the paint still looked like new. My ‘22 Lightning’s paint seems just as good. Let the rain clean it for you.
Interesting to us: when we visited the Dearborn...
My son’S late-model Toyota RAV 4 had the problem of leaking down the A piller due to clogged drains. I never had this problem with my ‘13 Lariat or my ‘22 Lightning Lariat but I would definitely prefer not having a sunroof. I do like the opening rear window though.
Just west of Amarillo just off the Interstate is Cadillac Ranch. It is free and is a Must See. Google it but still, be there. If you have some old spray paint, bring it. Sunrise and sunset are best but really any time is fine.
I sometimes raise my tailgate by hand. Am I damaging anything by doing so? My brother had to repair his Tesla Model S liftgate and was told that he had caused his problem by lifting it by hand, forcing it against the motor. When I lift my tailgate I am forcing it against its motor.
I have a 22 Lariat ER. My thoughts are, insist on an ER. You will generally only charge to 80%. 80% of a SR truck is not that great especilly in winter when your range will drop 30-40%. In my experience, the early models were carefully made. Also I have features that were dropped in later...
I too use the orange Rainex. It seems to cause rain drops to slide off like regular Rainex does, though not as strong as a proper Rainex application. I have had bad luck at Valvolene oil change stores where the stuff they put in freezes. Of course I no longer need to go to such places.
My truck is an early 2022 build Larriat ER. It has been a fine truck, much nicer than my 2013 Larriat and about equally reliable. I am very glad I bought it. I also am on my second Tesla. Would not even consider buying an ICE vehicle. Also I have a dealer that has a great service dept.
So...
You can use the Tesla Superchargers at Turningstone (Rome, NY), Destiny Mall in Syracuse, not the old Superchargers at Del Lago Casino, not the Supercharger in Victor (outside Rochester). But at the same exit, head toward the Victor Supercharger and before you get there, there is a decent set of...
In YouTube’s Ocean-to-Ocean truck race (Silverado, Rivian, Cybertruck, and Lightning), the Lightning got stranded even though the dashboard showed it had maybe 6 miles left. I believe that the accuracy of the GOM and the % of charge left may vary from truck to truck. So I am more conservative now.
