Nice! I have Nokian R3s that I will break out if I feel that the OEM ATs aren't cutting it. However, I just bought some Lariat take-off wheels with new ATs on them just because the whole setup was $1,000. Too cheap to pass up.
However, I REALLY like those American Racing Outlaw 2 wheels. I...
Man, who do people take out the TPMS sensors?! The new owner is gonna need some, and now they'll just have to pay more to get them added. Just leave the damn things in there and buy new ones for your new wheels!
Those wheels are now worth $600.
Hey Ken, I wonder if the PC end pieces for the main fairing will flap / buffet in the wind. Could you attach them to the camper frame around about their 90° corner?
Anecdotal data point -- I've seen this camper (and a few other things Ken has done) in person and his craftsmanship is top notch. A very impressive and studied build.
Ken, could you build out rearwards, over the top of the tailgate (when the tailgate is up)? You could use the space for cupboards or such, and if needed you could taper them in (in the plan view) so as to make them a bit more aero.
Hi Ken,
That's spectacular! Very well crafted. I see you're in Windsor -- I'm south of Lyons and would love to see the camper in person. Any chance I could come visit?
Thanks,
Toby.
If it helps, I made a bit of a table of different tires for the Lightning. I was initially focused on all-terrains, so the table is mostly these, but I've added in a few all seasons as well, including the LX20s. Not sure it'll help but you can filter on different columns:
Edit: well that's...
Same here; Pixel 7.
I don't make many calls from the truck so haven't fully reproduced the different situations, but the primary and most annoying I have is when plugged in (I also run BT and the phone is connected that way, too, which might be part of the problem). When I dial from the truck...
I saw that note, too, and think that they should absolutely replace the video with all expediency. That they can't see how this is a long term issue is a little scary. A note in the description is not sufficient. Change the video.
They look good but I'm pretty sure those wheels aren't load rated for the Lightning. They have a 2,025 front /2,249 rear rating, and the Lightning needs around 2,500 lbs on the rear axle.
Has anyone considered, or better yet installed, the 17" steelies from Tire Rack? They're just 27.6 lbs and have the stock factory +44 mm offset for a nice aero-loving tuck. And yes, Tire Rack says they're good to use on the Lightning...
