I punted on the truck as it is unclear when parts for the approved "fix" will be available and the communications from Ford to both me and the dealer has been horrific. At this point I will never buy a Ford younger than I am again.
I punted on mine. Ford and the dealer are fighting over who has to give me my deposit back and the way Ford is handling it is not reassuring. The pulling of the rebate was the last straw for me. I have no confidence Ford knows what it is doing and will probably never buy a new Ford again...
My truck has been sitting at the dealer with a stop sale since October and now the incentive is gone. Even if the recall were fixed tomorrow I would not buy it now that it will cost me more than if they had sold it to me when it arrived in town.
I'm in very rural Wisconsin and am 12 months into my R1S ownership and wish Ford would sell me the Lightning XLT I ordered (and it delivered to my dealer) months ago. I'm sorry you couldn't make a Lightning work. I find it odd you would use general click bait WSJ reporting, however, to...
another week of the truck sitting outside. I think I will be buying a R1T instead at this point. How bad is this "defrost" recall that it can't be fixed?
I kid you not, the owner of the dealership told me the gov't will fine them $26,000 if they sell it with this defrost recall open. That may or may not be true but what is certainly true is that there are two other azure XLT ERs within 50 miles and I will be seeing both tomorrow.
Supposedly only...
supposedly the order arrived the same hour as the truck. I'm sure the dealer doesn't want it just for eye candy in the showroom but would rather have my check.
truck is at the dealer... but has a stop sell order for the recall. I'm not sure what is better, that I can visit it a few miles from my house or staring at the online tracker with the truck in a state of indeterminacy?
well my dealer is already a little cold as they know I am writing a check and not financing. I said "take $1,000 off and I'll finance, but I'll only carry the note a month or two" they seem uninterested.
FWIW, updated today and still says shipped but now estimated arrival of 11/2.
My yet to be delivered truck has two lovely issues and the dealer said they don't do anything until it is sold (makes sense for the recall since Ford doesn't know how to fix it yet)
