I've actually changed my tune on EVs lately. Other than family, friends, etc. that I will extol the great value of electric cars to, I don't want them to be mainstream. Takes all of our fun and advantage away from owning them! ?
This is really interesting and a possible out to get these systems reliable for us? I really hope Ford would be smart enough to repair the current systems with more reliable line communication instead of Bluetooth...
I am pretty much exclusively PaaK, for over a year without major problems (you can't get stranded with the backup code). Since this forum has started Yet Another PaaK Thread, the last two weeks has been absolutely stupid using PaaK exclusively. Four times I've been forced to use the backup code...
I bitched to my wife about this yesterday. The feds will take away any incentives for EVs (because free market, right?) but then DIS-incentive us with massive fees/taxes? Wait...what??
The craziest thing is the gas tax hasn't been adjusted for inflation since 1993. So if this federal fee (or any current state fees) for EVs only is in some way supposed to recoup that cost then it is way overpriced...
Heh, so not a day later after writing my post stating PaaK is fine despite its road bumps, yesterday it gave me more trouble than I've ever had in over a year's worth of usage (and two different Android devices).
We were in the midst of a short weekend travel in the MD/DC area when...
I consider the PaaK to be a digital copy of my key fob. Issues I have are mostly walk-up-to-truck recognition problems (but I am lazy and keep my phone in my pocket and whoknowslasttimeIopenedFordpass). If Sparky doesn't start right away with just my phone in hand, I brute force and repeatedly...
Love the nerds here
Regarding "changing" these sounds, wouldn't there be some kind of failsafe built in to prevent that? I only bring it up since it is federal law (as someone else already pointed out) to have minimum sound levels on hybrid & electric vehicles.
Not that it is a simple feat to...
Cool beans. I used it multiple times today on my one "commute" day of the week. The auto-lane change works as advertised although I want to stress test it a little more (see if Sparky will realize he can't go into an occupied lane, properly supervised of course). I have tested how the adaptive...
Similar update sequence for me, although I think the front sensors were done as a CSP last year? Either way, BC 1.4 is here for Sparky (https://tenor.com/btV2h.gif).
Are we putting experiences down here? Is there another thread for that?
I would vote here but none of the options seem to fit: hasn't made a difference.
For Sparky the PaaK is fine. Quite usable with a few random caveats that are often resolved with a phone reboot if necessary. If Sparky doesn't recognize the PaaK right away, usually opening the app (or at worst...
Hey @nanohead , FWIW I have used Pixel phones exclusively with our Lightning for close to two years now. I did have an intermittent issue with the entire truck screen freezing and rebooting the whole system on occasion but lately that has seemed to have abated. Using a Pixel 9 Fold right now...
Has anyone here had an issue with the truck and charge station forgetting each other? Turns out that was my problem during my HIS test last month. I will try another backup test tomorrow to see if the power transfer works this time; I'm in the boat of "it worked initially and haven't changed...
Not to be devil's advocate, but why? That's about 2 to 2.5 hours of driving, well worth a stop for bathroom, snacks, stretch, etc. When we traveled with Sparky down the East Coast this was around our average per travel leg and it felt ideal the majority of the time.
I've never understood people...
I don't think my Lightning buying experience is timely at this point to your questions, but Sparky was technically a "buyback" from a very early purchaser back at the end of 2022. This is around when Ford was bungling their pre-order process when they underestimated initial demand and the person...
YEARS AGO (I always feel old) the University of Santa Cruz brought back their unofficial mascot of the banana slug. It was named Sammy (often not used nickname for me, given my birth name of Samuel).
