  1. Changes coming to Charge Assist / FordPass App

Ok so today was my first experience since they turned off this feature. traveling I-5 from Seattle to LA and the I-10 to Tucson from LA I use the Tesla superchargers exclusively since they work and are plentifully along that route. It’s totally useless now. My use case was to select the...
  2. Road Trip, how low is too low (SOC remaining)

We travel 1650 miles from AZ to WA a few times a year- driving on I-10 and I-5, We usually shoot for 15% arrival at the next DC fast charger -(exclusively Tesla Superchargers now) We are somewhat successful doing that- usually we arrive a bit higher than that- One really important thing...
  3. Where are the Tesla chargers?!

Use the Charge Assist from the main screen Then Type in the name of the location that you already know there is a Tesla supercharger enabled for people with an adapter ( something you figured out with either the Tesla app or using Abetterrouteplanner) Then the Tesla Supercharger will show...
  4. In-Vehicle Karaoke Rolling Out to F-150 Lightning! (Stingray Karaoke App)

My list of desires didn't include fun and games, I'd like some of the useful things my Tesla has had and these should be possible I hope 1. Camp Mode ( Similar to Dog Mode, and Dog mode can be used the same way) 2. Routing to Tesla Superchargers including pre conditioning 3. Charging rate...
  5. How to navigate to Tesla Chargers?

We just completed a 1650 mile trip and used Charge assist to navigate to the Superchargers. It was the only way we could get the navigation to work for routing to Tesla. However, I do not believe that any preconditioning occurred.
  6. Is Anybody Happy With Their Lightning?

I'll chime in - we've had our Platinum Lightning for almost 16 months and we've put 16K on it so 1K/month we bought a Used '22 with 6K miles on it. Saved a ton of money on it that way- 25K less than new - I suspect it was owned by someone that tried towing 300 miles on a charge and...
  7. New Tesla V4 station

FWIW not all V4 stations have their Magic Dock enabled. The Tesla app will tell you if the station has its Magic Dock enabled.
  8. Ford Resumes Shipping Fast Charging Adapters (Sept. 2024 batch)

My FedEx account shows label printed, no e-mail yet from Ford, but likely later today # 9760
  9. Can't get ford adaptor to work at tesla stations.

My first attempt ended in failure too- I couldn't 'get the lock to engage- I moved over one stall and it worked fine I've had no issues since either. I wonder if the handle at the first station was bad? Some people have had trouble. If you continue to have trouble give A2Z a call...
  10. Conditional awards announced for Arizona ADOT Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan

I'm not going to argue, we each have our own opinions. But for what it's worth: 1. What ever the display needs to have, could easily be added if it's missing. This has been proven but unless you own a vehicle that has frequent OTA updates you might not know that. (Ford does...
  11. Conditional awards announced for Arizona ADOT Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan

It's worse than that the letter says this "Construction is expected to take a year to complete after final contracts have been signed, with some stations opening by late 2025." Which to me means the earliest any of them will be on line is late 2025. I don't want to get political, but...
  12. Tesla Announces Hitting 8K Weekly NACS Adaptor Production Output

It's funny how we get used to something, When we got our Lightning, I thought it was very odd that all the charging information wasn't on the car's display including the cost- Plug and charge in a Tesla just works. And as for using the Tesla app over plug and charge, no need to turn plug...
  13. Update: F-150 Lightning Fast Charging Tesla Adapters Start Shipping TODAY Per Ford!

My Typhoon Pro arrived yesterday -Shipped Friday Aug 9th- it was ordered as a replacement for the Typhoon that was delivered a day before they came out with the Pro- So July 12th order date. I hope to get a chance to try it out in the next week or so- but I'm currently in a no -Tesla...
  14. Update: F-150 Lightning Fast Charging Tesla Adapters Start Shipping TODAY Per Ford!

Well, I'm not the only one that is disappointed in Ford/Tesla right now.- I ordered within an hour of the order opening for the adapter- First it was June delivery, then July and just now it's been updated to September.
  15. Tesla Owner with a 2023 Ford Lightning XLT Long Range (Impressions/Review)

We too own both a Tesla ( actually 2 Model S's, a 2014 and 2021) and a used Lightning. '22 bought 14 months ago with 6K miles. Our first trip was 72 hours after we bought it, 1600 miles and totally ignorant on just how bad the EA and EVgo charging experience would be. We'd been...
  16. Has anyone successfully used an aftermarket NACS to CCS adapter?

I know this is probably not the problem you experienced, but not all Tesla V3 Superchargers are Ford and Rivian enabled. You say you tried the Tesla App, so I guess that means the station you were trying to use was Ford enabled. But just wanted to make sure you know that not all are. We...
  17. PSA: Keep your Tesla NACS adapter cool

We just completed a 1600 mile trip using the A2Z adapter with our '22 Lightning- The temperatures were quite hot the whole way- mid 110's across the desert from Phoenix to LA, and We saw 112 up the central valley of California - we stopped numerous times and had no issues with charge rate...
  18. Vapor injection heat pump

Since you live in a cold climate the heat pump would have given you longer range in the winter. The big difference will be when your system needs heat- The 2022-2023s have a PTC heater that is just a big power draw-some people say up to 20-25% hit on range in the winter. I"m not sure...
  19. Blended Braking vs Tesla Style Regen from One Pedal Only

I'm pretty sure one of the more recent software updates added a form of blended braking to the Tesla Model S- At least mine has something now where it will use the friction brakes if there isn't enough regen available when "coasting"
  20. Avoid road trips on the back end of a holiday weekend?

This, my friend, is the stuff that sets EV adoption back 20 years- If these charging providers don't get their act together soon, EV's will not make it- While we need more sites for long distance travel, the issue now seems to be the station operation more so than locations. Tesla helps...
