I appreciate the info you have shared on this system. I have a really great electrician here who understands the hows and whys of this kind of install. I know I need to get a quote, but what kind of cost ballpark am I looking at for just hardware with no solar and a single dark start battery for...
I cut my teeth with an old VAX system I somehow got ahold of when I was a teen. I had been programming steadily through the late 80’s and early 90’s on a good old Commodore 64. Queue late 90’s and I really cut my teeth on HPUX, IRIX, SunOS. Good times.
I had a 22kw Generac at my last house. I live coastal, think very close to the coast but not right on the beach. We get hurricanes, though where I am at it is not horrible. I am wrestling with getting another Generac for the new house but I just don’t want to commit to that when I can use my...
This is certainly neat but I am unclear as to what I need to make this work. I haven’t ruled it out, but I have no intention of integrating solar as our net metering in my state is dreadful. Do I also need their battery banks or is there a system where only the truck is used as an alternate source?
Fair enough. I am a 30 year Linux/Unix engineer/architect so I fall squarely into the geek category. That being said I am in the discovery phase and was intrigued by @Aminorjourney experience with this. I think part of this discovery phase has turned up too many negatives and I am no longer...
Before we start, I know I can integrate a generator link and manual transfer switch to use my pro power onboard for outages. I still want to get the HIS components. I already have a FCSP that has worked for years flawlessly. I am moving into a new home house and don’t have a backup generator. I...
This is a lot of toil. Go to PlugShare, cross reference with star charts, do the Hokey Pokey and get totally friggen fed up with EV’s.
Save yourself the toil and extra expense for app subscriptions (looking at you ABRP).
First for the least amount of toil with broken or non-existent chargers...
I have a 23 Lariat in the Rapid Red color as well. It has been a fantastic looking and driving truck. BTW the pigment used to make the red is the same base pigment that is used in the brilliant Mazda red. I know one of the chemists who had the project to create this pigment. He always remarks...
Having played with the newest version I can say from my limited access that it is the gold standard of EV routing. You can specify that you have a NACS connector and also put your preferred network in. The outcome is that you can have the truck route to Superchargers only (if you wish), and it...
For those using Android Auto and Google Maps. In the latest Google Maps update, they broke mileage to next stop indicator in the IPC. They also broke preconditioning. If you see 0.0 for mileage to your next stop, then this is a bug. Report this to Google so they can get more eyes on the issue.
Just look at the previous post, post 66. That has links to where the OP stated they were running a Ohmmu battery and were having issues. The OP had an Ohmmu battery in their truck, and should NOT be blamed for what happened. Ohmmu states and many trust that their batteries are compatible with...
Right. I know. I have one of these and use it to maintain. I was replying to someone else who stated you can’t force charge these batteries. I guess can’t should have been changed to shouldn’t.
Tesla also moved to Li-Ion LVB in their Model Y and Model 3 I think starting with HW4 but maybe earlier. We had one in our 2023. It was no maintenance and the couple of years people had them, they were relatively problem free.
There may be method to the madness of going high then low voltage. This would help to desulfate the battery. Many chargers/minders have a repair mode that does just this. I would never do that to a LiFePO4 battery. I don’t trust their BMS to handle it.
So Ford engineers who are actually really...
You can do this with a n.co genius charger. The Ohmmu batteries have a BMS that doesn’t register as needing charged by many trickle chargers with current sensing. So they implemented a force feature that will output charge regardless of readings from the battery. In order to charge an Ohmmu...
I just needed to replace my LVB and was considering one of these but canceled my order last week and got the OEM one from my dealer. Just charged it up, installed it, and reset BMS this morning. Reading this thread, I am so glad I didn’t go with OHMMU. Also I can rest a little easier knowing it...
I have the same year, same trim, but different color, not that color matters.
Any mods to the vehicle, like replacing the LVB with a LiFePO4 one from Ohmmu?
Something that may help if you test drive one to where you want to test the height; the antenna is meant to be a canary in a coal mine. It is slightly taller than the top. If it hits then you know the cab won’t fit.
I noticed I had module firmware available for SOBDMC a week ago and I completed that update via FDRS. I don’t show any new updates in PTS but I guess new month, I should check this morning. I wonder if I now have to have my dealer close the campaign in OASIS for me.
