  1. New recall for moonroof deflector issues

So far no issues with mine, but this is my first Ford experience since my dad's Explorer back in '98. Not tempting fate so I do the same as above; never open the sunroof but i'll open the shade to let my kids look out/let some sun in. Regardless, I would have still taken the sunroof if was an...
  2. What is your truck's nickname?

I call mine "Spectre". The avalanche paint job and the fact that she's whisper quiet reminds me of a ghost floating around.
  3. Carrying a load

Payload is between 1800lbs to 2000lbs depending on model/configuration for 2025 model year. Good to know 500lbs didn't do much, it would have squished my SUV's suspension, lol
  4. Ac vent knobs falling off

Never had that happen to me ever; but then again, I don't really touch my vents once they're set. Perks of being the sole driver of a vehicle. Is it just the cover (chrome?) piece that falls off or is it the whole mechanism that fails once that piece falls off? If it's just the cover/trim piece...
  5. BlueCruise extension

Honestly, I'd pay if the service was $25/mo or around there. Just reallocate the money from my cancelled Game Pass subscription! But at $62.99/mo + tax where I'm at, that is a no-go. It's pretty convenient when I'm taking a drive on mapped highways, but I'm more of a rural route guy, so it's not...
  6. Windy road trip 40MPH Headwinds

I haven't driven nearly as much as you, but I have run out of gas in my previous ICE vehicles as well. Once just a few km from a gas station (young me though I could make it, alas, I did not, lol). Never ran out of electrons, but for sure my roadside assistance through either my credit card...
  7. Ford App Non-Responsive

I'm willing to wager it's probably connected to the recent AWS or Azure outages. No way that Ford servers don't rely on at least one of those services. I wasn't able to update my departure times the past few days but suddenly started working last night.
  8. Moving with FCSP

As long as you didn't get the HIS equipment installed, it should be a pretty straightforward job for any electrician. Depending on the layout of your new place, they might be able to reuse the existing conduit when they reinstall too.
  9. EV motor maintenance? Gear fluid change? When?

Just for the record, as a non-engineer-trades-trained-DIYer, if something is a sealed system, I am just smart enough to not mess with it. To me, sealed = replace the whole thing; however, if there are ports, inlet, outlet, discharge functions, I will explore the DIY route because it was designed...
  10. EV motor maintenance? Gear fluid change? When?

So what you're saying is that there isn't any harm since what I personally do as a 'non-engineer' is even more conservative than the manufacturer. What is the harm in swapping something out before it completely wears out? That's like saying you don't have to replace tires until you hit the wear...
  11. EV motor maintenance? Gear fluid change? When?

Other than that :p. Gotta pay to play.
  12. EV motor maintenance? Gear fluid change? When?

I generally have the same philosophy; I'd rather spend a few extra bucks to ensure my consumables are fresh/well maintained than have to replace the full unit or module. On all my previous ICE vehicles, I did full synthetic oil/filter changes around every 10,000km (6,200mi), tires every...
  13. J1772 extension cord

Off topic, but whenever someone tells RUN, it always reminds me of that scene in Minority Report when the precog tells Tom Cruises character to run away. Back on topic, like Rick said, there are reputable options available for AC charging extension cables and they're not terribly expensive if...
  14. 2022 Lariat Heat Pump Conversion/Install

IMO, would be cheaper, easier, and faster to just trade in for a 2024+ if you want the heat pump. Just take the loss on the trade in as the cost of upgrading.
  15. Turbine/Aero wheels

I swapped my factory aero rims for aftermarket traditional rims, same OEM tires, and saw no significant decrease in efficiency. Put my winter tires on the OEM aero rims :p. I did ask my brother who works at a local Acura dealership, said that he couldn't find any aftermarket options that...
  16. The Ford Lightning Miscellaneous Question and Answer Thread

Looks like it is just 2025+; we'll just have to wait for OTA in the next 5 years or ForSCAN experts to see if we can get it too :P
  17. Walk Away Locks / App open killing 12V battery.

That's exactly the case. There are IoT devices that also use BT inside my house, most notably my wireless headphones I use for work, that obviously won't work without BT enabled. Also, turning BT on/off breaks PaaK sometimes, so I try not to do that too much. My home office is also pretty close...
  18. The Ford Lightning Miscellaneous Question and Answer Thread

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle.. dagum.. Do you have the max tow package? Maybe it's related to that.. My Lariat doesn't have it but I only have the basic tech tow package I think..
  19. The Ford Lightning Miscellaneous Question and Answer Thread

Maybe he meant Off-Road with traction control off? There is no such thing as slippery mode.
  20. Walk Away Locks / App open killing 12V battery.

Good advice, but doesn't help the group that use PaaK and walk around the house within BT range of the vehicle. I've also turned off welcome lighting and WAL and resorted to pressing the lock buttons on the door keypad or trying my luck with the touch lock buttons on one of the doors.
