Good luck to you on yours. I had a crack in mine (drivers side) on the inward tailgate edge. Ford denied it and said it was caused by me even though there were no visible impact marks. Even my dealer lobbied they could not see any impact marks.
Check it over good for cracks. After Ford told me...
I honestly think thatās why the dealers hate these trucks⦠I had to beg my dealer to sell it to me. I just wonder how many dealers played a part in these not moving off the lot.
Cheers to the OP, thatās great news for the rest of us! š»
Yeah those werenāt the best pics. I took them this morning when it was covered in dew. My dealer cleaned them up a few weeks ago when they sent the pics to Ford. The dealer even indicated they observe no exterior trauma to the lamp.
Yeah, this has been a tough one for me to deal with. Itās the only issue Iāve had with this truck since new. I love this Lightning dearly, which is why I will likely just buy a new lens and make it whole (self-install) before I lose the radar sensor too. Ebay doesnāt have anything right now with...
I am another victim of this atrocity⦠Trying to figure out which avenue to go. Looks like just the lens is available for ~$1500 on Ford parts for the lower tier Lightnings. Here is my crack. It also extends around the light housing. It was not my doing, there are no impact marks anywhere and of...
I was having a conversation with Grok about this weeks news and thought this response was entertaining š
My last question: Ford mentioned that they arenāt able to turn a profit on the existing Lightning, so it doesn't seem like something with a gas generator would be much cheaper.
Response...
Once you get into this cold of territory, you may want to use departure time. As mentioned above, you can do the math as to how much power youāre using to preheat. It really depends on the cost of your power to decide if itās worth the comfort. I ran a bunch of tests on my 24 Flash last winter...
This. Donāt ever forget you are throwing around 6800+ lbs (I think thatās about what it was when I weighed her with me in it). Some parts will take the brunt of it.
That being said when that gas guzzling big rig pulls up next to you and tryās to take you off the line, I expect everyone in here...
You made a great choice Marsha! My 2014 Tacoma DCLB Sport ($33k) was stolen ~2016 and I dearly loved that truck. I replaced it with a 2016 DCSB OR ($37k) and the bells and whistles were nice from the newer body style but drivability was never even close. That 4 liter V6 they used to put in those...
Yes this does become cumbersome. I really wish Ford would implement a push button departure, specifically for folks that head out at different times certain days of the week. It would be nice not to have to set and delete schedules, specially since the handshakes with servers seem to be a bit...
I've had it happen multiple times this winter at work after only 5 or 6 hours between 30-40 degrees F. The saver is very conservative and really seems like an oversight as to have at least given us the possibility of starting using the default key fob from the factory.
I assumed there was no...
I've gone back and forth on this matter. I have the Chargepoint EVSE so not the best monitoring but in general by the time the dust settles it costs me an extra ~2-3kw to pre-condition. That's about $0.22-0.33 where I live so this time of year when everything is in the 20's and 30's outside I'm...
Yes this happened to me last night, I happen to use iOS and Android, both with v5.11.0. Lightning charged fine to specified percentage but indicated the -:-- on both iOS and Android. I often wonder if Ford uses software houses out of India or something and doesn't actually have a team. My...
We've taken the Lightning on a few road trips and I love it. Sure it's easier to put gas in a vehicle, but follow the rule of don't fast charge passed 80% and it's really manageable. I've never spent more than 25 minutes or so on a fast charger, pretty much by the time my wife and kids go to the...
My bracket and plate are still sitting in my frunk. I opened the bracket and said the same thing (hell no). If the boys in blue ever call me on it, Iāll look at the no drill bracket option.
+1 for plug and charge. I wish there was a way to pair it with the Tesla membership because itās super nice to just roll up toss on the adapter plug in and 10 seconds later sheās hot. Has worked flawless every time for me which means the leg work must be happening on Teslas side ?
Yeah this paint is pretty thin. I already have a couple chips on my bumper from just a couple months and like 1,400 miles. Just actually ordered a new kit for this truck from drcolorchip.com. Iāve used them on numerous vehicles in the past and can vouch for the product. Itās a bit more than...
I noticed the same thing, it's very strange and makes it pretty hard to prep the battery for charging this time of year. I do believe I was able to find the Tesla Superchargers using the new Public Charging app in the truck though so give that a try as a work around for now.
I did not know that! I suppose Iām even more content with the choice then.
Strange indeed they would continue to push it for anyone not getting setup with bi-directional.
