  1. Charging Help...2nd road trip

Check the FordPass app before you head to any Tesla charger to see if it's compatible. Incompatible Tesla stations will be marked as "Station Not Compatible" so avoid those. At compatible Tesla stations, you should be able to just plug in and charge with your BlueOval Charge Network account, but...
  2. Journey down the Baja…to Cabo

If you're using the included adapter, it will not work on Destination Chargers - the Fast Charging Adapter is for DC Fast Chargers only. Do you have an adapter specifically for the Tesla Destination Chargers and it still didn't work?
  3. SYNC 4 incessantly nagging “CarPlay is available…”

This sounds like when I had a faulty USB cable and it was intermittently connecting to the phone. The prompt is triggered once, when an iPhone (or a similar Android Auto prompt if an Android) is plugged in - I do this *all* the time with one iPhone wirelessly connected to CarPlay and the other...
  4. Charging Hwy Robbery $2.20/kwh @ 60kwh rate.

It does not, but thanks for asking! :) My trips are almost always adventures, even on routes I repeatedly travel. Charging at the same places all the time is boring, I switch it up as much as I possibly can.
  5. Charging Hwy Robbery $2.20/kwh @ 60kwh rate.

I've charged at dozens of dealers (mostly Ford, and mostly Ford Charge network, some Blink which I prefer less) across the country, and haven't yet had a bad experience. On many trips, I'll go out of my way to charge there.
  6. Is the Ford Charge Station Pro worth it?

As pointed out earlier in the thread, if you choose the Ford Power Promise complimentary charger and standard installation now, it will probably not be a Ford Charge Station Pro that you receive - unless that dealer still has one in store to hand over (but most dealers have long depleted theirs...
  7. Ford (and most) OEMs have missed the point with Connected Navigation

That's not true for vehicles with Connected Built-In Navigation. Chargers are still added to routes if required. However, the chargers that are added are potentially out of date, as the last time the database was updated was when the subscription was active. The navigation provider's data...
  8. Ford (and most) OEMs have missed the point with Connected Navigation

Totally get why folks like CarPlay and Android Auto routing, but from someone who prefers Connected Nav: By default, Connected Navigation will automatically add chargers to any route. When using Connected Navigation, Intelligent Range considers outside air temperature, elevation changes...
  9. Cross-Country teardrop camper road trip 2025!! (PA-WA) (VIDEO COMING SOON!)

I drove via Stevens Point, WI actually! It was awesome, I really had no charging issues at all on the trip other than having to unplug and replug at a few Superchargers and one EVgo. 22 EA stops, 11 Tesla, 16 other networks. Shamless plug (and pics)...
  10. Cross-Country teardrop camper road trip 2025!! (PA-WA) (VIDEO COMING SOON!)

Awesome! Love to see epic road trips like this with the Lightning! I just did a Michigan to Seattle to LA to Michigan trip in mine and it was an incredible experience - but no trailer on mine. Love to see Lightnings as tow rigs on road trips!
  11. BlueOval Charge Network adds IONNA

IONNA is in the BlueOval Charge Network - but that is not the same thing as Plug & Charge. At IONNA - like at all 14 networks in the BlueOval Charge Network you can use FordPass to pay - just tap Energy and then tap Public Charging. At EA and Tesla you can also use Plug & Charge. The networks...
  12. Auto sensing for Travel charger/connection

To use the Ford Mobile Power Cord at 240V, you need a NEMA 14-50 outlet. To install a NEMA 14-50 outlet, you need (per code) a 40A or 50A circuit. Continuous load devices (like chargers) need to use 80% or less of a circuit's capacity. (32A on 40A, 12A on 15A, 48A on 60A, etc.). So to do this...
  13. Phone as a key update required

It is not possible, there is a considerable set of extra hardware and wiring required (the external Bluetooth antennas), let alone programming every step of the way, including hypothetically on Ford's servers so the the app allows a PaaK to be deployed to your vehicle, so even if it was...
  14. 7,600 Miles, 7 National Parks, 1 Spruce Goose with my F-150 Lightning

Reserved hotels for getting to Glacier and that's it, winged it after that. Worked out well, if expensive. I normally pre-book every single night of any trip before I depart because hotels get expensive day of, but this trip took that to a new level. Some of the prices I paid were obscene, and...
  15. 7,600 Miles, 7 National Parks, 1 Spruce Goose with my F-150 Lightning

Love it! I've been to 33 national parks in the US (and 7 in Canada) so far on my electric adventures, and Sequoia was one of my all time favorites. I did Sequoia and Kings Canyon in 2021 for a week staying in Visalia and DCFCing before heading up to the park each day.
  16. Mercedes-Benz to offer 25¢/kW charging for the July 4th weekend

I love using them, they've got some great hardware and site locations. Plus, they're in BlueOval Charge Network, so no extra apps, accounts, or fuss needed. Just use FordPass. Electrify America used to do completely free travel weekends where they disabled payment altogether across their...
  17. Mercedes-Benz to offer 25¢/kW charging for the July 4th weekend

I'll choose these over Tesla all day, every day, regardless of price. They're actually often in the same parking lot (at their Buc-ee's locations). And just like Tesla, they're in BlueOval Charge Network, so no extra apps or accounts needed. Just use FordPass. :)
  18. 7,600 Miles, 7 National Parks, 1 Spruce Goose with my F-150 Lightning

BlueOval Charge Network is more than just Plug & Charge, and doesn't add any cost vs. paying directly with the provider - unless you're referring to purchasing discount memberships with providers, which is different still. With the majority of BlueOval Charge Network partner networks there's no...
  19. 7,600 Miles, 7 National Parks, 1 Spruce Goose with my F-150 Lightning

National Parks + EVs have always seemed like a perfect pairing to me. Earlier this year, I did a road trip from Michigan down to Big Bend in Texas, but for this summer's road trip I decided to go west to see the Spruce Goose in Oregon, and of course check out some new national parks along the...
  20. Compensating for Elevation in Route Planning

Connected Navigation in the truck uses elevation and other factors like traffic, temperature, speed limits, etc. (Intelligent Range), and I've always found it accurate (if slightly conservative) in mountains. It also works in areas without cell service (like mountains and national parks). All of...
