I went basically an entire year (2024) without charging at Electrify America, based on my issues on past road trips. But after trying them out earlier this year, they've become my most reliable network in this one road tripper's anecdotal experience, and issues at Tesla have become more common. Where once I sought out Tesla, I now seek out EA - but only the new sites with the new single-cable chargers.

Not trying to say give them a chance, but I'll just say I was very pleasantly surprised. I've used EA 59 times this year so far, haven't had a single hiccup.

Even though my worst experiences have been with EA they are usually fine. I just thought it was funny that they noticed. I got a similar email from Exxon a few months after I got the truck.

My main problem with them today is that most of their sites I would use are only 4-6 dispensers. When I’m coming home on I-95 I have a choice of a 4 stall EA or a 60 stall Tesla site so it’s an easy decision.

I received the same E-Mail two hours ago. I have only used E.A. once (in Baker, CA where the Tesla SC is Tesla only) back in May.
I answered that I don't normally use DCFC around home and normally use Tesla because of better availability and usually less expensive.

Heh, Shell sent me a similar email. They miss me at the pump.

I've seen maybe one single EA Location that has a similar layout to a Tesla Supercharger location... with 10-12 units...

but, most of the time I've ever stopped there, at least 2-5 of the units were not working properly...

my beef with EA, though, is mostly due to the layout, and location placement, within parking lots, mostly WALMART locations.
- one location, in Chipley, FL off I10, is extremely compact, right on the main entrance/exit lane of the store, INCLUDING the semi-truck lane, making it a less-than-desirable place to use, especially if towing... this location had one unit powering only at 43khw speeds, until I moved next door to get the expected 120+ speeds.
- another location, Walmart in Oxford, AL off I20, where the slanted unit location is RIGHT ON the main entrance where ALL the vehicles incoming to Walmart pass thru...crazy. Since it is the 'slanted' parking style, if you need to BACK IN, well, good luck.... you also can't come in thru the back side of the units since they have installed 'barriers' ... even more crazy.
- the location at Target in Gainsville, FL off I10, is another 'parking' situation, as it is up near the building, where, frankly, there is just too much 'traffic' from other 'normal' vehicles. Some of these units were'nt working, either.

I won't say the all Tesla locations are perfect, but what I've found with each having at least 6, if not 10 units, all in a 'row', at least gives you other options for how to 'park' at the best unit. Buc'ee's in FortValley/WarnerRobins GA, off I75, has now 8 Chargepoint units, hosted by the expensive brand MERCEDES, and yet, there are now FORTY EIGHT Superchargers nextdoor in the same parking lot.

Oh my.

EA sucks here in Boston. I still have a lot of free credit from when I took delivery of my truck in June of 2022.
