  1. 12V battery replacement

Itā€˜s a ā€˜weak’ point in all Hybrid, PHEV, & EV’s. Mostly because the small 12v battery, and itā€˜s purpose, are misunderstood. It’s purpose is to boot a larger 12v system. There is no legit reason to have a large 12v battery with such cars. A small battery will always have a shorter life than a...
  2. 12V battery replacement

My first question is, did you leave the truck plugged in? I get the impression you did not. So if not, why not just leave the truck plugged in? With the charge level set to say 62%, since you were leaving it at 61%. That would have avoided any problems. Also, as you near the end of your...
  3. Charging error but charging fine

Well, this just happened to me also. Tesla Universal Wall Connector, with built in adaptor. Previously fine. Tonight, Charging error message on my phone. Truck charging normal. any solutions ?
  4. 12 volt battery indication - issue?

On a side note, I was talking to a lady at the optometrist who drives a new sleek Prius. I asked her how she likes it. (I’ve had 2, years ago) She said she was having trouble with the car not starting, needing to be jumped and the 12v battery being replaced repeatedly. (Like it’s the car’s...
  5. First camping trip in 2023 platinum - regen braking is awesome.

Regen is awesome. I drive a lot to north GA and get alot of free downhill driving/charging
  6. 12 volt battery indication - issue?

The ā€œREADYā€ light is a very important and very misunderstood indicator in Hybrid/PHEV/EV’s. It means the ā€œengineā€ is running and ready to be ā€œdrivenā€. since we can’t see, hear, feel or smell that anymore, it’s an important indicator to understand. Its differentiates AcC mode from the vehicle...
  7. 12 volt battery indication - issue?

Don’t ignore it, it’s telling you something just Like a regular car. And the truck ainā€˜t ā€œbooted upā€œ yet, until she is in ā€œREADYā€œ mode. The 12v battery Indicator being displayed is only a problem if it’s still displayed when the ā€œreadyā€ light is on. This is no different than a regular...
  8. Lightning and 4WD

This was a good thread from a couple years ago. It made me appreciate how good electric drive can be at so many things, and specifically providing 4WD, and advanced AWD. Lightningā€˜s system is really neither in the traditional sense, yet both in the modern sense. Traditional 4WD, being strictly...
  9. Charging Speeds at Home

Yes, the mobile power cord is rated for a maximum of 30amps current. So on a 240v circuit it can provide a max of 7.2 kW. often due to local demands you may not have a full 240v available and the power output will be somewhat less, ie 6.6 kW I wish that there was a better understanding of...
  10. Bigger front battery?

Very cool insight Into the 12V battery cycles. I can detect the 12V voltage difference between power off/acc(boot up)/on, when I start the truck, by listening to my power seat motor. I typically run my power set forward as I start the truck. The seat motor ramps up twice as it goes from...
  11. Bigger front battery?

Im curious, how do you monitor your LVB SOC ? I want to ask When and why did you started but I follow it’s because you’ve replaced the LVB a couple times..
  12. ā€¼ļø UPDATE FORD E-RAPTOR grille swap and install tutorial

I like what you guys are doing with this aftermarket grill. Iā€˜m surprised no one has had it custom painted to better match the truck, and give a more custom upscale look. I’m thinking of Painting the surround of the grill in body color and the mesh in gloss black would give an awesome look. With...
  13. What functions go away without paying for BlueCruise?

You lose hand free cruise (no continuous nanny prompts) and lane change. Adaptive cruise and lane centering remain (with lots of hand-on-the-wheel annoying AF nanny prompts)
  14. Looking at Used Lighting Flash with Replaced High Voltage Battery

What’s that burned looking area in the bed all about?
  15. Tinted light bar

I’m more interested in the puddle lights ! What’s the source and how much is the overall flood light reduced from stock? Looks nice !
  16. Finally, a rear light bar option…

Putco might have something for the rest of us
  17. Lowered on 24’s

I gotta say, that looks dang good ! These trucks look better lowered, than lifted. Well done !
  18. Leak on rear motor

Tesla motors are the same, oil pump and oil filter. It’s really a Dexron VI type ATF fluid.
  19. BlueCruise dead spots ?

I have the lane change and lane reposition toggles, so I guess I have BC 1.4. Still not sure how to determine that with certainty. But, those little mapping gaps just don’t make sense to me. Seems like the system has room for improvement.
