ok, I guess. it really does make sense to me why Ford would build a 80 amp charger and it not be available for 2024 Lighting customers. Then tell your customers you would install it their home for free, and only provide 48 amps, but I'm not surprised.

Ok, now we're getting somewhere, because the ford pro 80 amp charger has the fast charging port and can charge at a higher rate. The Grizzl-e Ultimate 80 amp does not.

You do know a power supply converts AC to DC. according what you told me the fast chargers that provide 178 kilowatts would not work. if the truck will only provide 48 amps. Are you sure you know what you are talking about.

Also when I bought my truck ford told me the would come out and install a 80 amp charging unit for free. I could be wrong but it seems like you getting bad information.

The Pro Charger I think you are referring to is the 80 amp charger, it requires a 100 amp circuit . If you going to use that 50 amp circuit, i would recommend a 40 amp charger or upgrade your breaker panel. I'm not sure if 80 amp charger will work with a 50 amp circuit, plus I think that...

The first thing I would check is wiring to the charging station, make sure it grounded correctly. you should be using 3 gauge or 2 gauge wire and it should be rated at specific temperature to prevent it from overheating since you drawing that amount of current. check the amount of power you have...

I would think you have some power surge issues, not 100% sure just a hunch sense it does it intermittently. I would check you main power and make sure you are getting a steady flow of current from you breaker. I would also check you ground to the circuit, and make sure it stable.

The 2024 Ford Lighting has the fast charging port, have you tried changing the cord to a fast charging cord. I bet that would work, but at that point you might as well buy their charger.

I guess it is personal Preference, I am on my 3rd F150, and I have always owned a lariat edition, I prefer the extra options like leather seats and electric windows etc. I figured the extra money I paid was well worth it, since I keep my vehicle over 5 years or more.
