  1. Air conditioning wants to be on all the time

I agree that the HVAC system in Ford vehicles is not that smart. Recently had a Cadillac rental and the vehicle turned on the heater, heated seats and steering wheel when it was cool (low 60's in the morning) and then in the hot muggy Midwest afternoon switched to the AC and seat ventilation...
  2. Saw you at Tamanawas Falls. OR today!

Not mine, but I live just down the road in Portland. Came out to the parking garage the other night and another Antimatter Blue Lariat was parked next to my Antimatter Blue Lariat. We seem have a lot of Lightnings out here.
  3. 12 Inch Versus 15 Inch Screen

I have not had experience with the 12" screen. I would appreciate having buttons for the seats/HVAC. The 15" works well but can be laggy. I installed a "screen protector" on my screen and the fingerprints are much less of an issue. Likely some sort of magic.
  4. Amazing mileage!

Low pressure "shower" of the undercarriage. Although with all the bugs I picked up on the drive it could use a proper wash.
  5. After a year and a half.....

Glad you love your truck. Most of us on this forum do as well. Would be great to have better software and update processes. I deactivated the speed sign recognition/speed adjust because it was so erratic. The cameras see signs on side roads, or some times read other randomness as a road sign...
  6. Amazing mileage!

I did not air down the tires, but did have some worry I would get stuck. Only reason I did not was I forgot to pack my inflator. That, and there were a bunch of Subaru/CRV/Toyota CUVs on the beach. I figured if they can do it so will I. I would be interested to see what people can safely air...
  7. Amazing mileage!

I forgot to take a photo of the dash. I drove home from the Oregon coast yesterday just over 100 miles on rolling 55 mph state roads and arrived home with mileage of 2.9 mi/kwh. Yes, I did the speed limit. Temps were in the mid 70's. GOM said I would have 19% SOC on arriving home and I arrived...
  8. Tailgate mod

I have been thinking similar, but with the Lightning accent blue
  9. Lane Keeping (or Lane Centering) automatically engages with Cruise Control?

I like the LKA. As stated above, it is like having a co-pilot. I had my first car with adaptive cruise control nearly 18 years ago and have grown to like the assistance features to the point that I use them every drive. Nothing in them makes me do anything. I find the intrusions minimal. Early...
  10. Method 321 wheels + Toyo Open Country AT III EV tires + Eibach Front Shocks

Nice looking ride. I don't think my tires were ever that shiny. Not even when I picked it up new.
  11. First BYD truck spotted in Southern California. Came in from Mexico lots of lines and features from f150.

I am in Scotland on vacation and was given an BYD PHEV rental, SUV. The thing is built well and drives quite nicely. Main gripe, the seat cushion is a bit short and firm for my American butt, especially when compared with my Lightning. Also, would recommend against Enterprise for rentals here...
  12. Uhhh, seems a bit fast for the neighborhood... (80 in a 35???)

I also live in Portland and have found a stretch of Broadway where the system occasionally thinks the speed limit is 80. Near a gas station, so their sign might be leading to confusion. I also find that it reads the speed signs on side roads which here are 20 mph, and so the truck will want to...
  13. Air Conditioning While Idle

Two questions here: 1) how do you leave the vehicle running and leave/lock the vehicle? What about the key? 2) why run the AC when shopping instead of just logging in to the app and starting climate control when heading back out to the vehicle?
  14. Orange Wrench Service Soon but still full power

Thank you. I do regularly look at the gauges, and they are always spot-on. But will keep that in mind.
  15. Orange Wrench Service Soon but still full power

I have a similar issue, wrench and alert every time I start the vehicle. I still have full power. Dealership checked the codes and said it is a problem with a coolant system valve. The part was originally supposed to come in at the end of March, but now they are telling me the end of June. I...
  16. FordPass 5.20.0 iOS & Android

I love it when they clearly explain what the app update does.
  17. Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) Now Open to Non-Rivian EVs

In Oregon, the only Rivian chargers that are open to other marques is in Astoria. At least that is what the Rivian website says. Other "nearby" open chargers are in central CA and Montana. So clearly have not pushed the software out widespread. Will have to continue using EA and Tesla when on...
  18. Please help with my home charger install

I went with the garage sub panel when we remodeled the garage and installed the charger. I now have powered outlets and lights in the garage, outlets out back near my garden, and a FCSP which I down rated to 60 amp and set up to only charge when I am sleeping. Works like a charm.
  19. After the last update (window / door update) I noticed my doors locking on their own.

That would be a possibility. However I did do that in the past on my iMac and I now have an unusable/unrecoverable partition on my HDD. Not sure if I want to torment myself or spend some money on an inexpensive PC laptop.
  20. After the last update (window / door update) I noticed my doors locking on their own.

My understanding is that it also requires a Windows PC. I just have a Mac. So that would increase my cost a bit. Perhaps there is one compatible with Chromebook? Will need to look more in to it.
