  1. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

I hope some people learn from my mistake in trusting the GOM. I will never let it go under 20% ever again.
  2. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

I am talking about these numbers that lead to the quick drain: 40-50% power, 15 miles of range/GOM, & 9-10% SOC. Under these conditions, is when it just dropped to zero, within 60 seconds.
  3. Truck died 5 miles from home

Yup. Same. Basically it just went to zero from 50% power, 15 miles of range, 13% SOC, in a minute. I have made that last leg of the trip on 5% SOC, many times. Ford roadside did nothing for me, I had to call a local tow-truck, but at least he was there in 40 minutes.

I gotcha, I didn't know that it meant complete lightning death. Okay so on that note, temporary "brick" status then. A brick in the road, another brick in the wall, follow the yellow brick road, people who work in the "glass house" should not throw bricks! :)
  5. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

Just trying to make it home w/o stopping to charge, & never had a problem before as I stated, even in the Winter, but this time the GOM called my bluff.
  6. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

Before this happened, I made it home at least 6 times with less than 10%, maybe 3 times under 5% and never bricked.
  7. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

Hey I think you missed something: Roadside Assistance is included during the first 5 years or 60,000 miles from your vehicle's Warranty Start Date (whichever comes first) and with most Ford Protect Extended Service Plans. If you need to arrange roadside services on your own, Ford Motor Company...
  8. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

I believe you, but the rep said nope, & then she never sent the paylink, so we moved on and called local towing instead, because we were stressed out and the wife was angry af at the whole situation.
  9. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

They said it is only free if you get towed to a dealership. I just wanted to go home and charge.
  10. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

It went from 60% power down to 9% percent while sitting at the traffic light for 2 minutes, and then drained completely within 60 seconds.
  11. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

Thanks. I think having a small gas genny in my bed for long trips, and a 240/LVL-2 charger might be a good backup plan for long distance/remote areas or for if the GOM ever lets me down again. Lesson learned. I will try to never go below, 20% SOC again.
  12. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

I often charge to 100%, about once per week, & I have made this trip many times and pushed the limits under 10% SOC but this time I was let down, and stuck in heavy traffic. It was embarrassing and disappointing to have everyone having to go around such a big "new" looking truck. Is it...
  13. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

I used to make it under 10% for the last leg of this trip, and even drove on 5% before. But this last time my luck ran out. I often charge to 100% so that should not have affected my calibration. Once bitten, twice shy...
  14. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

Nope! I had charged it up to 90% 2 days prior and should've had 20-30 miles to spare from point A.
  15. After 2 years it finally happened. Bricked/Ran out of juice in rush hour traffic with wife & dogs onboard

Bricked at a stoplight, GOM said I had 15 miles of range, and then went down to zero in 60 seconds. I had taken this trip at least 50 times and always made it home even though I had less than 10% SOC, I made it the last few miles home with no issue even in the Michigan Winter. This time, my...

cool! thank you! this has been a great truck for almost 2 years now! only issue was battery module 1&2 failed after 8,000 miles.
  17. moto horn

hello, has anyone added one of these loud, yet small "train" horns to their lightning? i had one on my old ICE f-150, and want to add one to this truck. just wondering if all went fine with the installation and function of everything afterwards. hit me up. https://motohorn.com/
  18. Most Ford F-150 Lightning Customers Came From Retail In 2025

I went from am F-150 2019 ICE XLT to a LIGHTNING XLT 2023. I was trying to support my plant (REVC), and the trans was acting funny on the ICE at only 88,000 miles.
