Why not just offer both? Or offer the engine (generator) as a modular attachment that fits in the bed only when needed on long trips? Ford innovated incredibly with the lightning, and is now moving backwards. I guess what sells is what's produced. The lightning is an amazing truck. Too bad EVs...
Glad you haven't had the same experience I've had. Wired the iphones are good. Wireless they are buggy. Not just in the lightning, but in all of my cars, rental cars, etc. Which has led me to the conclusion that AA seems to function better, so I just use that. Just my experience.
Happens occasionally with my Samsung phone. Just be happy you have Android Auto. When using my Iphone 16 with wireless carplay, it's a nightmare. Glitchy, slow, and drops connection frequently. That's carplay for you. AA is just way better. I have both, and I never use carplay it's garbage.
I wouldn't think that would work. The truck would drive over the snow and compact it, making it harder to plow. I'll try to post a video next time it snows of it in action on the lightning backing up. It works very well.
So far so good! I've used it only for 1ft of snow and less, and it plows to bare concrete. Much better than dealing with a snow blower. I can clear my whole driveway in my heated cab in about 5 minutes. Wish I had purchased sooner.
All interesting info guys! Thanks for sharing. Just trying to learn more about the truck as I own it. It’s a very versatile vehicle, and does so much more than most people realize. 7.2kW is plenty for me. I’d never have a need for more than that. I’ve powered my house with my central AC on from...
That's correct. Actually for two reasons. I use the pro power when camping off grid in winter. Sometimes I use a 6kw 240V space heater. Turning the inverter on with the heater plugged in will arc a relay, and over time was worried it could prematurely fail it, and if the relays aren't...
It works great, I own one. The only drawback was the plow doesn't fit any standard truck in the USA due to height. The Lightning hitch is about 19" off the ground. My stock Tahoe is 21". My friends Maverick is 18". Apparently this thing was designed to be used on a Smart car. I had to have...
There have to be relays or transistors or the outlets couldn't be turned on and off remotely. It's just a question of where they are located. Inside the inverter, or elsewhere. Serviceable or not.
There has to be a relay or a transistor for each set of outlets. One for the frunk, one for the bed, one for the interior. How else would they switch on and off? Either different sections of the inverter are powered on and off via transistor/relay, or the inverter is always fully powered...
Kind of what I'm guessing also. You would think they would be serviceable, though. Hopefully someone can answer! Maybe I'll listen for clicking later in the garage with someone inside turning them on/off.
Hi All. Wondering where all of the relays are for the pro power 9.6kw system. The interior outlets seem to always default to "on", but I have to turn the bed and frunk outlets on through the touch screen. Are the relays in the box under the hood (I don't see them listed in the owner's...
It's a walled garden Apple problem/restriction. Android Auto is wide open and not restricted. That's why I only use Android Auto and not Carplay. I never connect my Iphone to my cars--only the Samsung phone. Android Auto is just so much better when you can have both to compare. Plus...
lol. I guess I just run Android Auto all the time, and don't really have any issues with the Sync system--except for the AWFUL slow speed/lag it has, especially at startup. Other than that, it does what I need it to do without being to unnecessarily fancy.
