  1. Got my transfer to the Lightning plant and saw first dealer mannequin trucks go down the line!

I don’t think so. I don’t see a way they could bring people through this plant safely.
  2. Got my transfer to the Lightning plant and saw first dealer mannequin trucks go down the line!

My understanding is that these are customer orders, but I could be misunderstanding them. ?‍♂️

If you ordered anything other than Antimatter Blue, you made a mistake. #ISaidWhatISaid ???
  4. Got my transfer to the Lightning plant and saw first dealer mannequin trucks go down the line!

I started there this morning, and got to see the first customer [admin edit: likely dealer mannequin] trucks go down the line. It’s still gonna be a minute before they hit dealerships, but they are a commin’…
  5. So, a Mach-E and 2 Lightnings decided to hang out at the same watering hole… AKA Rouge Electric Vehicle Center Plant

I posted this on the Mach-E forum a while ago. I thought y’all might get a kick out of it here too. That is in front of the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center plant where the Lightnings are being built.
  6. Answers & Pics From F-150 Lightning Event & Product Experts

My understanding is that the f150 extended range battery is, when it comes to charging, basically 2 batteries with their own charging pathways. This means from the plug, the electricity flows down 2 separate paths, through the separate converters (or skips the converters if DC is what is being...

In response to the questions thread.... questions thread The numbers on DCFC are accurate, the extended battery will charge faster than the standard battery. Apparently, the on oard chargers also handle the charging control, not just converting the AC to DC. So, in effect, the truck has 2...

That may well be correct, I am going to ask them today about the charging discrepancy .

The Mach-E meets or exceeds the EPA estimates, I take issue with the 20% haircut C&D is taking off the top. If I’m closer to correct, the towing range should be around 120 and 150 for the standard and extended packs respectively.
  11. Will have access to F-150 Lightning and some Product Experts. Questions?

My guess is that the extended range pack is actually 2 smaller packs that can both be fed simultaneously. I am curious why they chose to stay at 150kW rather than making it 350kW capable.
  12. Will have access to F-150 Lightning and some Product Experts. Questions?

I have a Mach-E with the extended battery pack and AWD. The epa number for my car is 270. I am routinely seeing closer to 300 miles when I don’t use heat or AC. Unlike “some other manufacturers”, Ford seems to be being conservative on their estimated ranges. Or perhaps they’re estimating these...

I’m going to try to get estimates for towing and hauling, at various payloads if I can.

It also would allow you to have significantly more battery when you need it most.
  15. Will have access to F-150 Lightning and some Product Experts. Questions?

I wonder if they can add the capability to mount a battery pack in a trailer and connect it to the system to recover range…
  16. Will have access to F-150 Lightning and some Product Experts. Questions?

They can unlock more of the battery, sure, but it’s unlikely that they will unless there is an emergency. I have a Mach-E, and there is about 10% reserved as not useable to the customer. They do that intentionally because the batteries generate more heat operating and charging at the ends of...
  17. Will have access to F-150 Lightning and some Product Experts. Questions?

I seriously doubt that a software update will increase range. Range is going to be much more a function of hardware than software. I mean, they might find a minuscule savings in tuning the acceleration curves, or the regen curve, but it’s not going to be much more than a couple miles per charge...
