Does the Ford app/UI allow you to switch to percentage instead of miles like Tesla does? If so, I highly recommend just switching over. It will speed up your internalization of the necessary EV mindset which is that you only need to worry about range when you are doing something outside the...
New Jersey:
Mahwah Ford in Mahwah has a Rapid Red Platinum on the lot. They have it parked right out by the street. Test drives are reservation only, but they are not treating it like it’s special and were more than happy to show it in blistering heat even though I don’t have a reservation with...
Yep. At one point I was up to 8 reservations. I've taken delivery of the first two so I'm left with just two Lightnings, two Silverados, a Rivian, and the vaporware CyberTruck. People thought I was insane back when I started making these but most have since come around to understand.
Given these gigantic batteries are capable of taking hundreds of KW via DCFC I don't think 11.5 (or even lower) vs 19.2 KW charging are going to make a big difference. The ability to take (and output) power scales with battery size, I'd have zero qualms about regularly using 19.2KW on a 130+ KWH...
And? If you're someone who actually needs 80A (or just wants it), that's how you get it today without the extra pins on the Ford Pro charger. I don't agree with the desire to avoid this, but there aren't exactly a lot of 80A options out there given so few vehicles that can utilize it.
Do you...
DCU is still at 1.24% for 65 months on EVs with direct deposit:
https://www.dcu.org/borrow/vehicle-loans/auto-loans.html
I bought two EVs in the last ten days using them.
I expect to do the same with my Lightning, though I doubt rates will still be that low when a MY 2023 arrives.
Follow the instructions here:

That's the timestamp that matters (as much as it matters, I suppose given the current cluster), not the email.
Fifteen minutes was really late to the game.
My order is timestamped "created":"2021-05-20T01:31:56+0000" and I'm not likely to get a 2022 and certainly not a pro from the look of it.
Do we actually have any evidence that the upgraded pro power is a requirement for V2H? I would tend to doubt it since it's delivered as DC via the CCS DCFC pins.
We already have a widespread charging standard. CCS has basically won, Tesla is the only holdout and they are currently deploying CCS equipped supercharger stalls. IMO it is likely that Tesla will change fully to CCS at some point given they already sell CCS cars in some regions. Different...
I’m of the opinion that EV demand is going to outpace supply for several more years at least. The new plants coming online just means that more people will be exposed to them and end up wanting one.
A single drive of a Bolt, of all cars, ruined ICE forever for me. I knew immediately that I...
Home backup without noise has a lot of value. You can also use it to load shift, which is helpful for time of use metering situations.
As a side note, while the purchase price of gas generators isn't terrible (eg 24kw air-cooled Generac around $6,120 MSRP today) the install costs can be...
Can second the avoid PPA advice. If you live in a state with heavy incentives (which it appears you do) then buying is by far the better choice.
I purchased a house with a Vivint (now SunRun) PPA in place on it. I was lined up to rip it off and replace it with a much larger purchased system but...
We are in complete agreement on the state of pay, job security, etc for the working masses. Society has seen a rapid shift in the last couple decades of what skillsets are valued, but blue collar or otherwise - We are all getting railed. Some of just a little less so because we happen to have...
