  1. NACS Extension Cable Coming From Tesla

Nothing wrong with Tesla suggesting the port location, it's really the most obvious solution instead of modifying every existing charging station. If other manufactures are not happy about it then they shouldn't use the Tesla charge port. I mean it's already embarrassing enough that to get the...
  2. Ford stops shipment of 2024 Lightnings due to unspecified issue

did drop slightly in after hrs trading but seems minor compared to all the other issues Ford has had in the past
  3. Ford Intelligent Backup on existing Tesla Solar + Powerwalls system

Would be interesting, maybe once Tesla does allow their cars to do V2L or V2H it might be doable. Tesla's system is so seamless I wouldn't want to do anything to mess with it's function
  4. State Farm / FordPass / Connected Car Enrollment ?

I completely gave up on trying to get a good score with the drive safe app. I tried to see how bad of a score i could get and was surprised to see it didn't change much One thing that did make a huge change was the time my wife's app stopped working and it didn't log any drives, the discount...
  5. Ford beats Q2 expectations

Great results but after hours still down more than close. Looking fwd to the open
  6. Adaptive/blue cruise delayed slowing?

This seems to be sort of normal for adaptive cruise cars, although I would expect much better from the Blue Cruise system that uses radar. My i3 with TJA does the same, but it lacks radar, only has one camera, and no OTA updates so it's understandable and impressive that it even works in the...
  7. Adding Tesla Model 3 to the Stable

They will be/are the EV version of the Toyota Camry/Corolla of the world, longest lasting and everywhere. I'm happy to trade misaligned / panel gaps for a well engineered designed cooling/drivetrain/battery.
  8. Adding Tesla Model 3 to the Stable

As long as you don't mind looking like every car on the road lol. Im saying that as I have 2 white model 3s (M3P and RWD). It's hilarious how many there are on the roads now, when I come across another one i try to drive behind it. I must not be the only one, last time we made a mini convoy...
  9. Out of Spec Drives Silverado EV

That's some amazing efficiency for the weight and possible 500 range wow! If only it looked better lol
  10. Munro predicts Ford will switch to NACS only (Tesla standard) based on their announcement from last week.

Lots of BMW i3 owners report having to lift up the CCS charger to get it to charge due to the weight, EA has actually recommended this to many i3 users when they called in to ask for help with charging. Tesla charger is smaller than CCS but I'm sure I could break both if I wanted to. I don't...
  11. F-150 Lightning to gain access to Tesla Superchargers! Get standard NACS port starting 2025!

Really have to admire how Farley is not afraid to praise Tesla, for the most part (he did make a remark about building cars in tents at one point). Taking the strongest points of another company and joining it with yours without being concerned about what others think while benefiting the...
  12. Anyone want to share current financing rates, just want to make sure dealer is being square.

Hawaii credit unions have great rates for some reason, a friend got 2.75% 36months from Hawaiian Financial (3% plus EVs get 0.25% off), Hickam Federal is supposed to be even lower. Hickam requirements is live in Hawaii or lived in Hawaii or have a family member who is a member.
  13. Wrong kind of lightning strike - damaged charger

Wow that is nice! The two times I emailed them technical questions about their charger I was surprised to receive an email back from a real person who knew the product in 1-2days.
  14. Wrong kind of lightning strike - damaged charger

True, we used to put electrolytics in backwards as fireworks. Come to think of it, it's a somewhat sealed box so the air pressure of it popping tops of caps is probably what did it
  15. Wrong kind of lightning strike - damaged charger

Wow! I have two of those Emporia chargers, opened one to hardwire, the only thing I could think of that could cause that cover to crack would be a transformer but even then the gap from cover to the board where everything is mounted seemed at least 1" away
  16. Finally got the invite after 18 months and now I have cold feet.......

You could have just changed dealers, they give you back the $100 and you still get to keep the reservation, keep options open
  17. IRS releases new EV credit rules - effective 4/18/23

Ford CEO Farley Comments On Newly Released Guidance On Inflation Reduction Act Implementation; Says Will Help Customers Determine Whether They're Eligible To Receive Incentives, Plan To Share More Information Soon BENZINGA 3:41 AM ET 3/31/2023
  18. IRS updates FAQ related to new, previously owned and qualified commercial clean vehicle credits

Looks like in a few days, hope Ford and dealers are really pushing: "U.S. Official Says U.S. Treasury Battery Guidance To Be Released This Week To Result In Fewer Vehicles Eligible For Full Or Partial EV Tax Credits" - Benzinga 3/29/2023
  19. Efficiency numbers (m/kWh) with Splash Guards/Mudflaps?

What was really surprising to me was how much more efficient it is than the i3 with all of its carbon fiber and aluminum. It's 65 up hill then 70 down the back side of the hill average total of 158 Wh/mi, I do get it down to 5.6 mi/kWh if I hit the on ramp hard and stay in the left lane.
