I’m in Canada where there is no early access program and I have BC on a job 1 truck. Obviously the dealer didn’t enable it but BC isn’t limited to only those in the early access program if you’re going to do the updates yourself.
No problems with latest version of FDRS here. Just did PCM on job 1 powerboost.
Also no TRM update shown and likely won’t be until the 18th. My versions are a bit different then others on here, see attached.
Well recall notice and info is gone from FordPass app and the FordPass widget now so not sure if I agree. TRM update that was put out not long ago could have been the update with the TSB just now being released else why release a TSB at all? Not sure though if the dealer has to ultimately close...
I had the TRM recall done yesterday but had updated the TRM module when it was available in FDRS weeks ago. Comparing the module information currently in FDRS after the recall was done to that from weeks prior there is no change to the software or calibration that I can see. All Asbuilt info is...
Appreciate everything you and the team here have done to help enable us to update our own trucks. Appreciate the teams knowledge and willingness to help out a fellow member. Thanks for everything!
Just testing the water here but is everyone that’s updating since the TSB having their OTA info also update to reflect not being stuck?
Is anyone who was updated prior to the TSB have their OTA info reflect being unstuck
Just wondering so I know whether or not to keep my case open with...
Mine still has the failed update info and I’m right up to date as well. Ford’s OTA system is broken I think, it sure isn’t perfect and I’m not sure when I’ll see mine clear. I guess I’ll just wait and see what and if there is any future OTAs and see if they try and get pushed to me.
For those on here that have made changes to different modules and had problems updating them what changes did you make and to what modules?
I think it would be a good idea to get a general consensus of the changes that should be reverted back to stock before doing any updates. Maybe captured in...
It does the verification and issues a pass per even without the USB installed after an update. So not sure if there is anything else it checks but it doesn't seem like it's a required step. I don't know.....
Interesting that this document states that you should reconnect the USB drive to your PC (FDRS) before continuing with a USB update. I wonder if there are any implications to not doing it that way? What has everyone been doing, connected or disconnected before continuing?
Be carful with your FDRS licensing as well. It is tied to a specific machine I believe and if you’re changing laptops you need to first remove the license from your laptop and put it back on the cloud. FDRS is only allowed to be activated on one machine at a time, To manage your license go...
Not bashing them just voicing what I’ve seen. You’re right though could be something with my charger or a combination of charger, surface tablet power supply and powerboost. I have the Noco 7200 and tried it in normal charge mode, AGM, AGM+ and power supply and got the same results. I ended up...
Totally agree, nothing wrong with them when used in the right application. They are just fine without a laptop connected to your truck writing to your modules. Not sure if would affect them but if it’s messing with my mouse it could be messing with the Nano, Mongoose or VCM. Heaven forbid it...
The other problem with the Noco smart chargers are they use PWM(Pulse width modulation) or equivalent to charge these batteries. I tried a noco and when I would plug in my laptop my mouse would go all crazy. Unplug the noco and all is fine. So a good conventional analog battery charger with...
Should have more clear. Not connecting directly to the negative battery terminal but rather connecting after the battery monitoring electronics on the negative body side of the battery. That point your connected to is a 10 gauge wire directly to that point on the battery. It has a large flat...
