Tesla will provide a loaner if a repair takes more than 48 hours. I imagine if a customer is beyond ride share distances they would do it for shorter periods.
Cold climate, long distance travel = no SR for me. I know what it's like to have a short range (238 EPA) EV in an area where DCFC stations are sparse.
That's a hypothetical since any EV delivered after 12/31/22 obeys the IRA with its MSRP and income caps. The deletes are ants on the cake.
Truck built mid December with 2022 delivery estimated, but now delayed into 2023 thereby losing the old tax credit. I noticed about a week ago the Window Sticker for my VIN has become unavailable. Wonder if Ford is up to something with a price revision. I know that's an extremely optimistic take...
I ordered Iconic Silver, but was contemplating changing to Avalanche as I really like ceramic type colors. But, way before I thought they would ("available Spring 2023") Ford picked up my order for production, and so Iconic Silver it is.
I ordered on 9/30 and got a build week of 11/21, whereas I had planned on "Spring 2023" as the website listed.
Between loss or halving of tax credits, rising unemployment and interest rates, I suspect 1/3 of the original 250K will bail. But, all the trucks not produced by direct order...
Good news: 11/21
Bad news: I don't want the truck anymore.
website said "availability spring 2023" so I planned on 6 or more months before I had to make a decision.
Supply + recession + stock bear market+ higher interest rates + tax credit = end of flipping. Apply the old tried and true rule, don't buy a vehicle unless you intend to keep it 7 years.
As it turns out, my Y with a tow hitch is a pretty good substitute for my truck needs. A ton of interior room, much more efficient, can tow a 2000 lb GW utility trailer with ease.
Very doubtful I will take delivery of my Lightning order. It's just too expensive for a model that will have a...
I own a Y, and have a lightning on order (May 19 what have I got to lose reservation). Test drove the Lightning last week (same trim Lariat) and I have to say the Tesla is light years ahead of ford in technology. Most likely I will flip the Lightning if the market is right or just decline...
Pulling say 450 kw from a 130 kwh battery pack is stressful on the cells. To make the battery pack lifetime reasonable (10 years 150, 000 mile warranty in ZEV states) Ford has to limit huge power draws to a few seconds.
Read somewhere the Lightning top speed is 107 mph.
SOL at #2 on my dealers list. OK, I could still get a 2023 but now there's this diminishing tax credit thing and who knows how much they will jack up MSRPs.
