All of this would be unnecessary if Ford would allow DVR functionality on one or more of the SIX(!?!) cameras built in to the vehicle already. Disgraceful.
This is the way. If I'm home and the sun is out, then the truck is being charged via the Excess Solar feature on the Emporia, squeezing every usable Watt from my solar panels. This frequently results in low to very-low charge rates, but anything going into the truck is preferable to giving the...
Another Emporia standard user here with the Vue Gen 2 monitoring. Very satisfied, and the Excess Solar mode is my daily routine. Yes, there is a bit of manual backing-and-forthing required but I'm hopeful that Emporia will make it more user-friendly going forward. They do seem to update the...
I think this is why Ford didn't give us ready-access to the digital percent-remaining at the instrument cluster originally, just the "analog" gauge. People get fixated by the numbers, understandably, but its called the Guess-O-Meter for a reason.
Just got the "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" warning pop up. First for this particular vehicle, but I've done this dance before with my prior '23 XLT. That one took 9 weeks to resolve and ended up with Ford taking the vehicle back. Hoping for a better outcome this time.
Fun fact -...
Brought this TSB to the attention of my dealer, mentioned the hit-or-miss CarPlay issues. The service advisor said that there were no outstanding updates when I had the vehicle in to them about a month ago for the 10k service, but I politely persisted and he eventually scheduled me to check it...
What kind of charger (not a charger, I know) do you have? I use an Emporia Level 2 unit and have set the truck up to charge "when plugged in". This puts all of the scheduling responsibility onto the Emporia unit, which by all indications offers greater flexibility and reliability than the...
For me there is only one use-case for preconditioning, and that is when I know that I'll need all the range I can get, which is rare. Otherwise just the occasional cabin heating before leaving, here in the land of absurdly high electrical rates and relatively mild temperatures.
OK, the new version of FordPass (5.7.0) is not allowing me to change "Target Charge", nor is updating the current SOC. Anybody else having similar issues?
Looks like great trip. You went through Elk (Greenwood) CA! Shhhhh, don't tell anyone else about it. There's not much you can't do in a '23 SR today. Imagine what it's going to be like 5 years from now
Soooo the California Vehicle Code, as I understand it, says you can have loads extend no further than 2/3rds your wheelbase length beyond the vehicle, or in our case about 97". The kayaks are 14'- 10". As long as the "vehicle" includes the tailgate in the down position, I'm good, I think.
