Bumping an old thread here but just had this happen for the first time this morning at 21,000 miles. Center display was unaffected. After about 30s of full black the screen turned on and UI elements began popping in one by one, but the display itself was sluggish to respond to inputs on the...
Any updates on you guys that got these cameras replaced, how have they held up? Mine has started doing it consistently when hot, wanted to make sure that the replacement does actually fix it.
BuiltRight's rear bench release was 20% off, had on my wishlist for a while. Turns out there's more space behind the seat than I thought.

Luckily I didn't need to flash the 312A BCM firmware again, just needed to update those 4 addresses and now passive works as it did before the EAP WAL update.
Just following back up in case anybody similarly lost passive functionality after Ford has been screwing with WAL in EAP. Indeed the first few related registers in the BCM reverted to the 311A as-builts, had to go back in and modify them again. The affected blocks were:
726-18-01
726-24-01...
Check the USB-C power cable from the OBD II going into the box. The way they keyed the barrel terminals is idiotic and provides no positive confirmation of a connection. One of my complaints in their surveys, why they avoided using something proven like an M12 connector is beyond me.
Anybody else in the EAP have this stop working in the last week or so (imagine it's related to the WAL). Going to enable to WAL FORSCAN toggle and disable it and double-check the addresses for this change. Was wondering why my keys weren't being detected and why my truck kept honking at me when...
I'm surprised how many vehicles still use monostable gear selectors. Jeep dragged their feet on the Cherokee until the high profile case with Anton Yelchin.
I still prefer the column but that will never come back now that we shift electronically instead of mechanically. At least the rotary Ford...
Not without significant modification to the OEM tub, would basically need to cut out the entire shouldered section below the insert as the shifter is marginally too wide. If shifted it down the requisite 5/8" to be flush with the top of the tub I think the taper towards the bottom would be too...
Will fork when I have a minute, wanted to reprint mine and resolve some of the print issues and include those lessons learned before sending it out for the masses. I know some people here were interested in something printable with a smaller build envelope so I figured I'd get what I have so far...
Finally got around to trying the insert in the OEM tub, pardon the draft finish. Plan to print again myself as I had some layer separation and the corners lifted off the bed screwing up the carbon fiber pattern a bit. I also didn't like the position of the z seam, and would recommend locating...
This should work, made it 0.003" thick so there's already some tolerance built into the subtractive cut. Might have to scale and rotate the surface so you don't end up with hairline edges that aren't printable.
You haven't lived until you've plastic welded with the Weller pistol iron and some zip ties.
Suppose it's worth reiterating that ABS fumes are indeed toxic and I don't advise doing this without precautionary measures. Goes without saying that really any melted plastic fumes should probably not...
J-B Weld 8237 (PlasticWeld) would work well around the perimeter of the joint. Would work double duty as a spot fill before prime/paint so it would still look like one cohesive part.
Can't open your Thingiverse .steps for some reason. But thinking about it more you could probably just dovetail split through the shift box and have enough material for the two parts to slot into one another with some modest transitional tolerance added. Would have a better mechanical connection...
Understandable. I spent quite a bit of time ensuring the design is pretty dynamic anticipating such a request, I'll see what I can do. In theory I should be able to just shift the whole thing down the requisite distance to be flush and the insert should rebuild itself. Will just need to see how...
