Also an awesome experience at Villa Ford in Orange (CA). No ADM, no BS -- just honesty and helpful the whole way through. I worked with Keiki and George there.
I'm at Villa Ford of Orange. So far it looks like 3-4 days from the time it lands at Mira Loma and is offloaded to dealer arrival (at least for the last few that arrived within the last week or two).
I had to drive past the dealership this evening so I figured I’d stop by and check if I saw anything. I think it was offloaded in Mira loma on Thursday night so I thought I’d take a chance since it’s been a couple days, but nothing there. Hopefully get the call sometime next week.
Following up on this for others tracking. Late last night (9pm) my truck went to something like “actual place” (maybe not exact terms) but still no location info. I called again this morning and it now says the rail car is empty and awaiting loading and does say it’s in Mira Loma. So chat thinks...

You’ll push 1 for English, say 1 for pieces of equipment then say your full rail number. Mine is letter, letter and six numbers. So AA123456 for example. You say all 8 characters without a pause/break. Some UP seem to have four letters instead of two.
Ford chat still saying I’m in Chicago, but I called UP today and it says “hold awaiting placement” as of this evening. I think @ResidualJinx said that means it’s landed at Mira loma and now just waiting to get loaded on a truck and delivered?
So when I call UP it gives me like no status reports. The only things I can make out are something about 9/20 departure. Departure origin flat rock and eta is 9/22. Would that be eta to the first stop or is that final stop?
Just got done with my daily chat with Ford -- They confirmed today I'm with Union pacific, but still located in chicago and no update since 9/12 -- No rail car ID/Number available. Does this seem reasonable for it to sit in Chicago for 9 days? I'm partially wondering if it got missed some how...
Does anyone know what it takes to get the trucks moved? Is it a full truck to various dealerships in So Cal or is a full truck to one specific dealership? Anyone also know about how many vehicles are required for a delivery truck to be considered full?
@CRAIGC540 Have either of you confirmed this with Chat also? Not sure if they are worthwhile, but trying to figure out if I can see if I am at Mira Loma also.
I saw somewhere (can’t recall where and not even certain if it’s true) that the chips are assigned a vin before they even arrive. Maybe the chip you were missing didn’t pass QC or something? Seems like they should have some in reserve for those instances, to avoid scenarios like this.
Yeah, you can definitely keep venting here --You've been waiting a long time and uncertainty just amplifies everything -- Hoping you get that status change soon!
I got my pic rolling off the line today also -- looks identical to @ResidualJinx except my driver window is rolled down lol
Ford chat confirmed I'm in Chicago as well -- likely same train then! My eta still showing 9/25-10/1 -- I'm headed to Mira Loma, CA if I remember correctly.
A clue for me was the fordpass app -- I had not been able to "activate" -- kept giving me an error, then yesterday afternoon when I tried it actually went to "pending activation" -- so if anyone else is having an error and then it suddenly works, that may indicate that your status is about to...
