Resurrecting this thread as I just got the same error but most recently I updated my Tesla Wall Charger, which now tracks charging within the app, and thus I believe pinging the truck for data like someone mentioned.
Can anyone confirm this?
Got it. Sorry to be dense here but we’re basically saying that the auto enables the computer to decide if the compressor should be activated or not then? I guess I always assumed if I didn’t hit the AC button I was prohibiting the computer from having that option.
Ok awesome that’s helpful too. Sounds like it’s more a “only touch when I’m desperate for range” button and auto with A/C enabled the rest of the time using the thermostat as I see fit
Ok I think this might be entirely user error then. I typically don’t like auto function but now that it has a “low” setting I find it less obtrusive. Older vehicles I’ve had seemed to only have one high blast setting that made it uncomfortable.

My question is more about if I should just leave the e-heat button on all the time then I guess? Unless I’m at low mileage.
The e-heat button is burried in the settings and in NC this time of year I can wake up to 30 degree weather at 70 by mid day so it’s a bit Crazy. If e heat is on then the...
I'm bringing my truck in for service tomorrow, I have a Pro model but I'm having a lot of difficulty figuring out if there's some sort of user error going on or if my truck isn't functioning properly.
When I adjust the climate control temperature, and move it to 'high' (i.e., 80+ degrees)...
Good question. I bet that’s why they’re so expensive (the lighting). It also makes a huge difference on the pro as the board blocks the view of the battery hanging down which you can otherwise see on the pro (but hidden on all the other models)
Cool that’s definitely helpful. When you say you went with the OEM boards, you mean the standard non-powered right? Not the OEM powered from the ICE trucks? The reason I ask is simply because the OEM price I was quoted for the standard lightning boards was outrageous. Nearly $1000 I think
Has anyone successfully installed the AMP power steps yet? My shop called amp and they said they wouldn’t have anything for the lightning until next year which was surprising to me. I thought it would bolt on rather easily?
I have the Pro and could use a solution… I suppose bolt on could work
Just wanted to bump this to the top again - does anyone know if a raptor steering wheel has been confirmed to fit on the lightnings? I assume i would need a new Gen 3 wheel
That’s awesome. Did you like the way it turned out? Do you know the part number by chance?
also does anyone know if a raptor wheel can be put on as well, assuming I just swap the same buttons over?
The Katzkin price was higher than my shop. Depending on your moral compass I just called the shop they were saying they would use first to get a feel for their experience. They were extremely competent and I priced it out with them directly (not telling them katzkin referred me) and they came in...
