I've had the same problem for over a year now and so far nothing has helped.

I also posted something about this in the F150Gen14 forum because there are posts from other people with the same problem. For the record, this is for the 12" screen.

I started a chat with Microsoft's CoPilot and it summarized the problem in a way that hopefully @Ford Motor Company can digest. I'm posting it in both forums because there are people in the ICE forum having the same problem, so I'd like to share whatever happens with them too.

SiriusXM Metadata Missing in SYNC 4

I'm experiencing a persistent issue with my 2022 F-150 Lightning where the SiriusXM metadata no longer appears on the SYNC 4 screen. Artist and song title data continue to display correctly in the instrument cluster, which suggests that the feed from SiriusXM is intact—but the SYNC display layer appears to be failing to parse or render the UI properly.

I’ve already attempted:

  • Soft resets of the SYNC system.
  • Master resets via dealer (which also involved re-attaching my truck to my FordPASS App as though it was a new purchase).
  • Waiting through multiple OTA updates (none resolved the issue).
I'm now investigating the possibility of a corrupted XML or HTML UI template, especially since the issue began shortly after an OTA update. This is further supported by the fact that other users have reported similar issues—some suspecting malformed markup or rendering faults in the metadata display layer.

I'd like to know:

  • Whether there’s a way to refresh or reload the UI template layer (either via OTA or in-dealer service tools).
  • If TSB 25-2055 (or similar APIM firmware updates) include corrections for this behavior.
  • Whether the APIM version on my truck matches the fixed builds associated with known template issues.
I’m also exploring Engineering Mode on the head unit to check APIM logs and build numbers for inconsistencies. If needed, I’m open to flashing the APIM using FDRS or having my VIN reviewed for update eligibility.
sEND ME your vin. I have fixed this several times for people. I need to confirm that your truck has the same issue I have fixed before

I had this happen to me one morning but a restart fixed it for me.

Not sure if this is the same issue - but the behavior is similar. Sometimes song and artist display, sometimes not (and when listening to the NASCAR channel, sometimes the leaderboard displays, sometimes not...) I have 5 Fords and got tired of paying for 5 Sirius subscriptions. I cancelled all but one, and use the Sirius app on my Samsung Android to listen to Sirius in the vehicles which no longer have a Sirius plan.

When listening to Sirius via the app less info is displayed than when listening through the truck's Sirius subscription. Same channels, but less info is displayed. My Sync selects the Sirius app by default, not the embedded Sirius. Going to the audio source menu and selecting Sirius instead of Android Auto switches from Sirius app to the truck's Sync Sirius, and the song/title (and race leaderboard) appear.

When using CarPlay, the App is definitely a great option, the only downside is that changing stations is not as quick and easy as using things like the steering wheel controls.

When using CarPlay, I found another cool workaround.

If you launch CarPlay and you don't maximize it, there's a media option on the right side of the screen that show the correct song, artist, and album cover. It's an odd hack. You are essentially showing CarPlay on most of the screen just to see the artist on the SYNC widgets on the right.

It's super frustrating that there isn't a fix for this. I know from the ICE forum that this is a common problem. To make matters worse, my wireless CarPlay stopped working a couple of weeks ago. So, now, I need to plug in my phone to USB to use CarPlay.
