Waze Controls Hidden by Useless podcast interface

The intelligent screen sizing causes useless podcast and redundant temperature to be displayed lower middle of the center display at the expense of cutting off the bottom controls on Waze and MAPs. Thanks for disabling these features. they make the display even more useless.

Does anyone know how to revert to an earlier version of Sync to turn this crap off?

Not sure it's sync who is hiding it or if it's just missing in that screen format / version of Waze.
Just tap the waze (or google maps, or abrp for that matter) icon at the bottom and it'll expand that app and hide the weather / music.

It's kind of hard to troubleshoot based on your description. Maybe you can post a photo of what you're seeing on your display? Waze had a recent update that allows for the music/directions/weather live tiles below the map on Android Auto. You should be able to toggle to full screen waze by clicking the icon in the lower left corner of the Android Auto Display.

When I tap on the Waze screen the "speaker" button appears in the lower right. along with a sliver of the "reorient button" just below that. Further, the curser (the arrow that represents your car) is also hidden as well as you next turn (graghical). All of the feature access controls like the ability to end a "trip" or the estimated time of arrival are hidden no matter what you tap. if you start a navigation to get out of an unfamiliar location you have to listen to Waze until you get home. I guess I could use the speaker button to turn that off. I have deleted and reinstalled Waze and Android Auto. This all started with the latest update to Sync.
