HI, My drivers window goes down fine but it struggles to go back up. This just started last night, once it gets over 3/4 of the way up it speeds right up. All other windows are fine. I just booked a service appointment for Tuesday and I'll post the results of that visit here. I only started this thread as I tried searching and didn't find any posts about this issue. So maybe this will help someone in the future. 2025 Lightning Lariat with 2400 miles.

Don't know if this is related, but our Lightning had a driver's window issue after it was into a dealership for another issue.

The problem was that auto-close didn't work - you had to keep pulling up on the button to close the window. However, if you didn't let go at just the right moment, it would think the top was an obstruction and would automatically re-open the window.

It was taken back to the dealership and they fixed it, but after awhile it came back and they fixed it again.

We had it come back again, but found it fixed itself after cycling the window up and down a few times.

It came back another time and didn't self-fix, so it went back to the dealership. Again it was fixed, but the dealership said if it came back again, the tinting on the window might have to be removed. Not sure why this would be a cause since the passenger-side window never had this issue.

It did come back, but it self-corrected again and has been good for a couple of months.

I am wondering if the cooler weather might be a factor. Perhaps warmer weather might pose a resistance to the window's movement. Could this also be a factor with the problem @C6Bill is having?

We would use a clear silicone based spray lube in the tracks when this would happen. Yes, sprayed directly into the felt window tracks both fore and aft.

This only started a couple days ago and no real change in temperature. And no tint on the windows. Hopefully they do just need to lubricate the window tracks (y)

The tracks use to be adjustable as well, dunno if that's still the case.

Ditto all of the above and note there have been issues with the master window switch in the drivers side door mentioned on the forums.

As I recall it usually affected another window besides the driver's side in a way that it would not fully close or close at all.

Whenever I had issues with my 2001 Ranger window, I would spray some WD40 down in there and that did the trick. Not fond of the smell of that stuff, but easier than taking the door panels off...and it was an old truck.

And this is all they did, works great now :)

Concern: drivers window does not want to go up. goes down fine but struggles to go back up

VERIFIED CONCERN DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW STRUGGLES TO GO BACKUP

INSPECTED DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW RUNNERS FOUND THE RUBBER DRY AND HOLDING ONTO THE WINDOW GLASS

Solution: LUBRICATED ALL WINDOW RUNNERS AND TESTED DRIVERS WINDOW OPPERATION. NO CONCERN PRESENT ALL WINDOWS OPERATE AS EXPECTED

Figured it might, always worked for us. This is what we then and I now still use,
CRC Heavy Duty Silicone Lubricant. Most auto part stores carry it, Amazon, Walmart etc.

An easy fix, good news.

I wonder about other motorize moving parts on Fords. Besides the window issue, my Ranger's motorized mirrors stopped moving after about 10 years of ownership - a bit of a chore opening them to lube so I just used the 'set it and forget' method.

We all have probably seen the issues with the shifter.
Will the mirror motors/gears be a problem in the future?
Time will tell.
