Vermont’s Green Mountain Power (GMP) informed me that the Ford Charge Station Pro is not compatible with their reduced rate/off hours program. The software in the Ford Charge Station Pro is not compatible with Green Mountain Power’s management system software. If you wish to get reduced rights through Green Mountain Power you will need to get one of GMP’s free Emporium or ChargePoint chargers installed. This would’ve been nice to know prior to installing the FCSP (although QMerit did the breaker and wiring for free).

That's what they told me back in 2022/2023. Thought GMP would have caught up by now. Maybe it's on the FCSP.

I had heard GMP stopped providing charges. Nice to hear it's back. I sold my FCSP and I've been happy with the Emporium. Do you know if they are providing the next gen Emporium? That's supposed to have load sharing between units when charging two EVs.

I feel it's a big miss on the part of Ford and Siemens that the Charge Station Pro doesn't support power management (both from a current sensor to avoid service/panel upgrades and from the utility to lower costs). It's doubly-odd because the FCSP does support a data link connection so that it can talk to the rest of the Home Integration System.

That said, the Emporia and ChargePoint units are both well-known brands and are considered reliable. It should be a minimum-cost electrician visit to remove the QMerit-insetalled FCSP and replace it with an Emporia or ChargePoint unit.

I had replied about something similar in a thread about the NYS national grid smart ny program.... Ford has a permanent moratorium on data access to outside entities. They won't allow any security tokens. So yes ford keeps our data for their own use and snooping but at the same time won't let you become vulnerable to an outside entity.

GMP clearly states which EVSEs are compatible with their program. We have two flo home X5 EVSEs and one emporia. However they go about getting the data, it needs to be easy for them. I would have used the fcsp if it was compatible with their billing, but the ones they provide work great and are free. It is a bummer that you had the fcsp installed only to find out it isn't compatible, but it is super easy to switch to another hardwired EVSE mounted in the same location.

Replacing with an Emporium is on the calendar.
