Got my first rock chip

It's all down hill from this chip with more to come?. So if you had the protection film this would be avoided?
Im thinking about adding protection to the front only.

I got a DEEP rock-chip on my A pillar near the top at roughly 1000 miles. That was my first one... BUT I have to convince myself: This is a truck, chips happen!
