The hitch extender seems to work fine. Hauled both (wife's 10'er and this chonk). Mine flat, hers on edge. Lots of ratchet straps!
This one came with that hitch stabilizer that @rickbjeepb posted above.
Solo, mine seemed like it was going to be fine flat like this. Power outage at work and I needed to run back in so didn't actually drive anywhere with it solo today.
