Lightbar Tint Options - My Research - Updated

So the Luxe you purchased is thicker than traditional vinyl wrap? Reason I ask is Luxe lists their LightWrap product at 3.5 mil on their website, which is causing some concerns with rocks knocking holes in it.
The Xpel PPF the shop is currently installing on my truck is 8 mil, and the Xpel ultimate I have on my headlights is 10 mil.

I’m going to go ahead and buy the Luxe film tonight. I talked to the wrap shop and they directed me to try black colored PPF and see how much light passed through as he didn’t think the Luxe would hold up to road damage, but it sounds like it should. They don’t install the colored PPF either. That’d be yet another shop…

Looks like the site where I bought mine is now out of the Luxe Light Wrap- Midnight. As it was put on by a tint shop, not a wrap shop, I'd say the light film is thinner, but I don't in that industry. I've had it on for months now and I make 100 mile trips (each way) at higher speeds each week. No issues. Still looks like the day it went on.

If you get black OOF, the light will not shine through. Someone on this forum tried that as well. They ended up taking the PPF back off and going a light film/tint. I think they just went with dark smoke- which looks fine on white and grey trucks, but for black I think Midnight is the way to go.
