After two days and a 1000 miles bringing the new truck home I can say that there is definitely no 'wow' in me in regards to the SYNC system.
First of all - in my older vehicle I was able to do a (Radio, FM) Channel Refresh. It would scan the channels it receives and then a list of channels would show on the screen where I could scroll through and select what I wanted.
No such option in SYNC. So if you're drivine in a new area and want to pick up new stations, you need to manualy scan by repeated pressings on the >> button. Absolutely crazy.
Still with the radio - from the Owner's Manual in SYNC:
Using the Station List:
1. Press Browse
Note: Available on FM radio only
2. Press a station.
Anyone cares to direct me to the "Browse" button? Because we could not find anything like it on the screen and none of the physical buttons work as browse.
I am also not impressed with Android Auto, or the integration of Android Auto with SYNC.
For example: if I use Waze, instead of the built-in Navigation (or Google Maps for that matter), I cannot switch between the two screens (moving the map to the smaller window on the right). It only works with the built-in Navigation.
I am also disappointed that there is a very limited number of apps that can be actually installed directly to SYNC, or that can be displayed on SYNC through Android Auto.
