Replacing Platinum Mirror Caps?

I’m about to replace the chrome mirror caps on my Platinum with color matched carbonized gray.
Has anyone done this and have some tips on how to remove the mirror to get to the cap?

1. Remove the exterior mirror glass.
   1. Position the mirror glass in and up.
2. 1. Using a flat blade screwdriver separate the exterior mirror glass from the exterior mirror motor.
3. 1. NOTE: The number and location of the electrical connectors will vary based on mirror option content.
      Disconnect the exterior mirror glass electrical connectors.
