Hi all
Did a test tow of a 19 foot class Bunkhouse trailer this weekend, doing a 90km loop at highway speeds, with a "mountain" of 400 meters (~1,300ft) elevation and descent, and then return trip the same elevation and descent.
Results were pretty on par with the Towing efficiency Data thread, which is great. The truck showed 55kwH/100km, meaning an implied full range of about 238kms. For freedom units, that's a little better than 1.1 miles per kwh. Highway speeds were around 90kmh the whole time (up to 100 at spots, down to 80 at spots), but I was not trying to baby it.
My thoughts/questions for you all:
Overall, pleased with how it performed, all things considered. We are already used to charging about every 175 - 200kms on our big camping trips each year since we've been towing our tent trailer with our ID4, so this is going to be the same spacing it seems, just hauling a LOT more stuff and having a lot more creature comforts at our camping spots. Showers, an actual toilet, rigid walls, AC.....very excited!
Thanks for the help everyone

My thoughts/questions for you all:
- The Google Map state of charge estimator on arrival did NOT change with the turning on of trailer mode, and entering the trailer details. Is this normal? I was REALLY hoping that (very useful!) tool would work in trailer mode as well....kind of disappointed it did not.
- The instrument gauge cluster changed, and it seemed accurate throughout, but the SOC on arrival in Android Auto did not change, which was a bummer.
- Has anyone figured out how to make the SOC estimator in Android Auto work with trailer
- Turn signals on = side view camera on
- When I did a test tow with my tent trailer with a DEALER TRUCK back in October, which was a 2024 Flash trim as well, when I turned on the turn signals, the side view camera took over the main screen.
- In this drive, it did NOT do that. How do I turn that back on?
