When will we see the first independent reviews?

I'm champing at the bit for more Lightning content. At this point everything is just re-hashed info most of us have known for months. When do you guys think Ford will let the Lightning loose for the auto journos?

At a guess, the May / June timeframe. That is when the first round should start showing up to people.

No-one knows but the Mach-E rollout might give us some clues. Mach-E reviews were embargoed until 12/15/20 and the first customer deliveries started to trickle out at the end of that month. The Mach-E GT was embargoed until 10/11/21 even though the first customers got deliveries in late August 2021.

I obsessively watch the EV-focused YouTubers and there hasn't been any chatter about Lightning reviews yet. Production is supposed to start in mid-March so I'm betting we'll see first drives by mid-April.

I am anxiously awaiting Tom Moloughney's 70mph range test on the Lightning. (Inside EVs). Tom is also an early reservation holder...

Another piece of info--one of the TFL guys is in Michigan's U.P. for an electric press drive. The Hummer press drive isn't for another couple of weeks, so I'm assuming it's for the Lightning. Ford did a winter press drive at the Smithers Winter Proving Grounds in the U.P. for the Mach-E before it was released to market, so there's some precedent.

Any new info would be appreciated! Looking forward to some real life feedback on range and efficiency. There really hasn’t been anything concrete other than Ford’s EPA “targets” and misleading dash readouts.
