Hi all,
I didn't take down fancy stats or logs for my trip or anything, but I thought I would just tell everyone how incredible the trip in my Lightning was. Left Yosemite Valley and headed to Selma, CA to charge. We had stayed at a campground in Yosemite that had 50 Amp RV plugs, so I had a 90 percent charge when we left, reached Selma Tesla chargers with 135 miles remaining. Charged up, ate, relieved ourselves, headed to Bakersfield, CA for another charge. Arrived at the Bakersfield Tesla v4 charger with 161 miles. It would a quicker charge due to the small trip gap, but I got a drink from the in parking lot grocery store, and headed for Barstow, CA. In Barstow, I hit a quick through In N Out Burger and went to the giant 40-plus stall Tesla station with 93 miles left, plugged in, ate my meal, then got to 90 percent. I then headed to Vegas. Instead of pushing straight through to my hotel in Vegas, I decided to stop at Primm, NV mostly because the wife is a big lottery player and that is where the last CA lottery office is (it's literally one foot inside the CA/NV border). Now, the Tesla station in Primm is v2, so we had to use EA chargers that only have 4 stations... And we're full! As I was about to leave a VW id4 unplugged, so we just plugged in with our 78 miles left. After 20 minutes of crating tickets (AND winning $80!!) we unplugged with 75 percent.we arrived at the hotel with 155 miles. It was over 100 degrees everywhere we traveled with the exception of Yosemite Valley, and we had phones plugged in and a small portable refrigerator.
Easy, comfortable, stress free trip! This truck is the boss!
We did nearly exactly the same thing going back home to the Fresno /Yosemite... Cheap, easy, comfy, and FUN! Got $80 from lottery and $450 from casinos, lol.
Will do the same path again for sure!

Nice! Glad to hear it was a good trip! Assume you have an ER lightning?

When I saw the title to this posting, I was hopeful to read a trip log that described a route from Yosemite, east to 395, then south to Lone Pine, east across Death Valley, and then Pahrump to Las Vegas. I’ve made part of that trip in my SR Pro, but the segment in Yosemite NP is a little tricky given my limited range.

By the way, if you are impressed with the 40 stall Tesla station at Barstow, you should see the 120 stall Supercharger in the same town just a few miles away.

Yes, I actually have been to that massive station in my Mache E Premium SR. I was going south from Vegas and stopped there in January. I liked the mall and restroom entrance right by that giant station!
I didn't take the 'Lone Pine direction' from Yosemite because of the lack of public charging stations available. I did chart a route through there, and it did calculate that I would make it, but being that it was a much closer than comfortable percent on arrival, and in extreme temperatures, I didn't want to take any unnecessary risk, especially since I had 4 passengers with me this trip. I should point out that it would have been within 9 percent battery remaining in that direction, and I have a Flash Long Range Lightening, so it would be extra tough for a Standard Range. I know that trip planning gets altered in apps depending on your range, so I am not saying that it's impossible or anything, just more difficult.

Yep, Flash ER Lightning!
My other vehicle is a Mach E Premium SR, they are both in my profile Pic.
I am happy to say that, despite being SR, the Mach E is a pretty good road tripper too! I chose to drive the Lightning on this trip because I had 5 people going, so the cargo area was important too, not just the ER battery.... I have a roll up metal cover on my bed, plus the cavernous frunk! The pony is better suited for 2 for a longer trip.
