Yes. If someone behind you can see your red fog light, they’ll know you’re there and hopefully increase their following distance.
Europe mandates them. I miss using them - It’s a smart idea.
Well, hopefully, I'll have more data come Wednesday. I have a spare unit (which is what's on the wall) because the original unit I had put out there stopped working altogether and Ford wouldn't replace it, so go figure..
Yes, this is my issue too. Someone from Ford is coming out next week to "look at the situation" and not actually bring a new charging station.
Just think about this.
They're sending someone from Ford to my home to look at the installation and confirm what I'm experiencing... for the nth time...
Given that there are outfitters out there who have developed rear beds for the lightning - I don't see why they couldn't re-engineer it to add tipper support.
The issue however is that you'd not only need to add space for a hydraulic or electric actuator - but you'd need to ensure it sits...
Eh, I can't personally support RAM after its obnoxious over-the-top TV ads and quite obvious anti-EV stuff in recent years. (I'm talking personally here, with my journalist had firmly off).
With my journalist hat on "It's another option for those in the marketplace not yet ready to go fully...
Perfect. That's exactly what I *thought* they should be. Thank you!
I think I'm going to order some, come up with some test loads, and see what happens :)
I did some more digging, and I am not 100% sure we can add the rear fog just from FORscan changes. What I need to do in order to be 100% sure is to order some pins to add the relevant pin connector on C2280C - which may only operate and latch if a load is detected on it. My current plan of...
Got to see those extra power outlets and switches up to, plus the on-board air compressor (which I think should fit)
Also would love to see you put the same kind of fog light arrangements we're doing over at TE :)
Tell-tale on the dash - Ie, an icon that tells you it's on.
I think I've tracked down the issue - but I'll need a few minutes with the truck to confirm. Watch this space ;)
Yes. Fog lights are designed (the SAE ones at least) to give a consistent, low spread of light that isn't blinding, but give you a better view of the road.
Most SAE lights I've seen are yellow (although many stock ones are white) and that can also improve visibility in thick fog. My experience...
Thanks all - I'm wondering if there's lessons to learn from our Bronco cousins. They do have the option to add rear fogs, and I'm wondering if the lack of tell-tale on the IPC for the Rear Fog is part of a code issue, or just because I don't have anything plugged into the right BCM circuit for...
So I took the plunge and picked up a switch for factory-style front/rear fogs. My ultimate goal is to implement front-fogs in the lower grille as some others have done, but have it tied to the light switch.
So far, it's just the switch install, and some FORsacn tweaks, giving me front fog IPC...
