Oh.. you are talking about the long skinny plastic/with plastic chrome piece that trims out the corner between the sidewall and the horizontal area with the shifter and cup holders?
I did actually consider this so that I could change gears without lifting up my "center dining table". The rotary under it is nice, but it still annoying that I have to lift the console cover to get to it. Ford always claims their vehicles are tested by "real users" before they are released, but...
I didn't actually have to plug in the factory unit. I did unplug the rotary and plugged it back in to reset it, but now carry the factory shifter with me just in case.
I love the fancy electronic options but it is massively frustrating if you can't just stick a screw driver in the shifter to...
I have one of the motorized versions that shifts itself mechanically back into park (not just move LED lights). It has been great for the most part except for one time right at the end of a long day where the truck thought it was in park but the shifter was stuck in the Drive setting and...
Another tip for those that do use the factory outlets (I do for 120VAC feeds to my tool chargers). You can put a small magnet on the outlet to the bottom right and it makes the truck think the outlet cover is down and won't bug you about it.
I also made things easier by just using a standard 14-50 RV hookup outlet (or standard grounded dryer outlet) onto my truck. I have a bed box covering my factory outlets and often have a ton of crap in the bed so it's a pain to get to anyway.
The 50A style outlet (exterior grade covered) fits...
Are you physically pulling out a ground wire from a screw when you connect your lighting?
Would it not be easier to just install a switch that connects to ground for regular generators, and switches off the ground for connecting to the lightning?
Or a more automated option:
Add a second...
I love the truck's drivetrain hardware but the software is truly weak, irritating and inflexible.
Big things for me:
So the ability to self repair (i.e. see the same data the truck sends to the dealerships showing all the errors that the truck doesn't mention to the actual buyer of the...
Hi Alan.. thanks for the quick response! I will ask the following publicly in case it helps someone else. But I can send you any data you want privately.
Re: This issue with BP4
Should we even bother now that BP6 is released? Should I just use this instead? How stable is the beta?
If you do...
Hey.. sorry.. been out of town but still having issues. I did get the device to reset via SSH with a Bash script chatgpt helped me make. It wipes out the existing calibration and gets the device ready to accept a brand new calibration.
cd /data/openpilot || exit 1
test -x...
Ok went out this morning and the c4 worked for a little while then have the "calibration invalid". Rebooted the truck and c4. Still doing it. Tried recalibration 3 times and still failed with the same error.
Has anyone seen this on the c4?
Any ideas?
Aye... I already saw that one. It was helpful but being the nerdy type, I want to know what *all* the settings do and what their range is and so on. If it is OK, I will DM what I have so far via the AI. Maybe helpful for something that could help the engineering types out there.
If I have been informed correctly this means move 10 centimetres to the left?
So I have been tweaking the list of settings (shown above) to make it more readable and useful to put on the forum. Hopefully useful to other newbies.
This is what AI has come up with for the sunnypilot settings. Is...
