Most likely internal , putting a relay on the outside would be more expensive and harder to seal out the road salt and water mist these trucks get subjected too. Most manufacturers do not care about service ability anymore to prove my point just look at Stelantis and the IPM modules
My seat of pants tells me the cover takes away range slightly . I run about 50 percent of the time without it since I use thumbed a lot for firewood and large items . I could be wrong but either way it’s insignificant .
That’s all I use for over 90% of my charging is a 16 amp 240 it easily meets all of my needs. It charges at 3.6 kW about three times faster than what you have now.. you can buy a really nice Schumacher on eBay for about 60 bucks brand new it also doubles as a 120. It has a much longer cord than...
If your lightning is 3 yrs old and your in a northern state it is possible that you need to service your brakes .
Next time you stop after driving a while do a walk around and feel the hubs temp all 4 .
It doesn’t matter what they as much as your looking for one that’s a lot warmer than the...
Just get it in so they verify your under 3/36k , and they can go through it and order parts . they should cover everything except for tires and brakes so I would think you’d be fully covered unless it was neglecte or abuse that caused your problem.if you waited you d haves deductible at best...
This why it’s always best to tie it down from the max rated output your paying to heat your breaker and wiring … that would be safer and more efficient at 32 or 40 amps . Everything will last longer too. Less is more . A so think it’s all normal your running the max allowable amperage thru it...
I don’t think that has anything to do with it. I think it’s just got very low rear payload because the truck has a near perfect 50-50 weight distribution or a normal gas truck has most of its weight in the front end so while the lightning has a lot of payload a lot of that payload is in the...
Should be pretty clear by now Ford is not gonna update this thing going forward. I don’t think they care they’re losing so much money on these things. Why would they wanna make them better at an even higher cost, until there’s another Democrat in office at least , Ford is going back to what...
Did you rename the new module with the numbers from the old one ? I know of the computer sees a different number you get the alert . I would Try renaming the new module w the old one’s numbers
Those lines add friction to the airflow over the vehicle . ford went to great lengths to keep the truck as areodynamic possible , it’s that simple . Same reason the front end is slightly lower.
I would pull it ! Your platinum has maxtow as standard equipment . Just make sure your weight distribution hitch is setup correctly it’s very easy to overload the drive axle .
The Nissan leaf isn’t a very good example and those batteries were primitive small and air cooled so overheating and lack of thermal management lead to very short battery life , this will not be the case with the lightning at all. There sore demand will be a lot lower for lightning batteries .
