  1. Ford Fathom EV Pickup ($28,350 Starting Price) - News & Info

I don't have any use for a truck that small, but they should have called it the Ranchero, IMO -Zap
  2. I want to like the Rivians, they seem like a neat truck... but...

lol, I agree though, hence my lightbar blackout! -Zap
  3. I want to like the Rivians, they seem like a neat truck... but...

As noted, not a big Rivian fan, however as a former Model Y Performance owner I'd buy the R2. MYP was the most bland, milquetoast vehicle I have ever owned (plus Elon sucks, never another dime to that POS) -Zap EDIT: Maybe I spoke too soon; Redditor's R2 motor failure after... 2 miles :o
  4. I want to like the Rivians, they seem like a neat truck... but...

All I can think when I see one, is that they must really purify air with TWO of these mounted on the front bumper: https://www.dyson.com/air-treatment/air-purifiers/purifier-hot-cool-gen1-hp10/white? I can't unsee it... FR though, styling oddities aside; I am sure it's a great truck for some...
  5. Where are the unsold new f150 lightnings

I *do* think a $75k MSRP XLT was possible; I just sold our 2023 XLT ER high trim Max Tow/ProPower9.6 which had an MSRP of $73.5k. Very loaded but I'm sure I could have found $1500 more worth of options. I have seen *numerous* Lariats with MSRPs as low as 66k (SR) so there was some serious...
  6. Blue Oval Says Next Gen Ford F-150 Lightning Customers Will Be Long Distance Drivers

IIRC this is because most rest stop lands along interstates are owned by the government and there are laws and statutes about what can be done on the land; I believe that one such stipulation limits the sale of any items for profit (this avoids a McDonalds at every rest stop, for example) but...
  7. Where are the unsold new f150 lightnings

EV sales are through the roof the last few months (seen the price of gas? It's just getting started IMO), and they aren't making any more. Lightly used from a seller who underprices relative to the market (KBB is thousands behind, so if someone relies on it, they may leave $5-8k on the table...
  8. Blue Oval Says Next Gen Ford F-150 Lightning Customers Will Be Long Distance Drivers

"like large trucks where towing is a real important application and ... pure electric will definitely not work," Only the Sith deal in absolutes. /s Works fine for me, I'm towing heavy, 5-10k, 40-50% of the time... just short trips though. Infrastructure and charge speed could fix this just...
  9. It's TINY! Ford's new $30k EV truck spotted (in camo) next to an Expedition for scale

At the risk of getting into the weeds here, I think you're talking about GCWR which is not the same as tow capacity... a 2000 Ranger 4wd 3L which is what you said (correct me if I am wrong) has a max tow capacity of just over 4000 lbs depending on cab size (regular/super) and manual/auto...
  10. It's TINY! Ford's new $30k EV truck spotted (in camo) next to an Expedition for scale

I will wager whatever you like that tow cap will be closer to half of 7500 than it will to 7500... That would make it much more viable for more folks, it's just not feasible with a platform this small. -Zap
  11. It's TINY! Ford's new $30k EV truck spotted (in camo) next to an Expedition for scale

Cute, but I think I'll hang on to mine. https://www.thedrive.com/news/30000-electric-ford-truck-spy-shots -Zap
  12. How can I change the apin (sync 4a) behind my 15 inch screen?

No wrap, buddy, just Atlas Blue; the one-year-only Launch Color (no Launch Edition but I'll take what I can get) and for sure the best color ;) A pic from better times... -Zap
  13. What exactly does the Platinum have that makes it get less range? Just the wheels?

The weight of a Platinum owner's wallet is considerably greater than the rest of the ER fam; this additional unsprung mass no doubt contributes to range loss... :p -Zap

  15. Am I blind, or are there no lower front bed tie-downs?

Whatever receives the bolts that hold the tiedown on are between the stampings, so presumably captive nuts welded or held in place by some other method, plastic clips etc; on the back that the bolts go into, put there before the bedside is tacked on and the bed completed. That said, I'm not...
