IIRC this is because most rest stop lands along interstates are owned by the government and there are laws and statutes about what can be done on the land; I believe that one such stipulation limits the sale of any items for profit (this avoids a McDonalds at every rest stop, for example) but...

At the risk of getting into the weeds here, I think you're talking about GCWR which is not the same as tow capacity... a 2000 Ranger 4wd 3L which is what you said (correct me if I am wrong) has a max tow capacity of just over 4000 lbs depending on cab size (regular/super) and manual/auto...

I will wager whatever you like that tow cap will be closer to half of 7500 than it will to 7500... That would make it much more viable for more folks, it's just not feasible with a platform this small. -Zap
