Just wanted to share some photos on a weekend trip I took with my dogs last week. I actually averaged around 290 miles range during the trip. I filled up in Bridgeport and then in Bishop. By the time I got to the campground it was full at midnight. So I drove back towards Bishop about 30 min and stayed at a campground there. In the morning I calculated my 60 mile unexpected range loss doubling back and decided to continue back to bishop and filled up to 94%. If you have never visited this unique place, please do! Itā€™s amazing!

Iā€™m sporting a retrax pro, with uptop overland bedrock and an Inspired Overland tent thatā€™s about 87lbs. I was afraid my Great Pyrenees would bark at every wild animal he though he heard and get us kicked out of the campsite. But he was an angel for some reason. šŸ˜‚

For any photo buffs I used Sony mirrorless with Sony lenses. No IPhone shots here.

Beautiful indeed. Lone pine is definitely on my list of places to visit. I want to visit Cerro Gordo as well. How far does your RTT hang over the back of your truck?

It hangs over about less than a foot I would say. I included an iPhone side shot of it for you.

Route 395 in California is one of the least appreciated scenic highways in America; much of it is stunningly beautiful. I have a home south of its starting point and have made the trip multiple times, and gone as far as Reno in either an ICE or PHEV vehicle.

But I have been cautious about doing it in my Lightning SR. Checking Plugshare, I see both EA and Rivian (useless to 99% of EV drivers) have been building new stations. Maybe I will make the trip in the future.

And from Lone Pine, you can take the road to Whitney Portal. If you're in really good shape, it's just a "short" trip from there (much of it straight up!) to the top of Mt. Whitney, the highest point in the lower 48 states. The view from there is even better!

A number of old Hollywood westerns were filled in this area. Sometimes you can see the Alabama Hills and even Mt. Whitney in the mountainous background of some of these old flicks!

Great pics!
