It's been a while since I've done any trip reports. Partly because doing the video and media editing is painful (and youtube upload/creation is VERY painful), and partly because we have been doing simple/easy trips through forests and national parks, etc.
This trip to Bellthorpe National Park was still fairly easy, but we had an encounter to share.
Trip stats: About 167 kms, 6 hours elapsed (breaks, etc, although there was a lot of driving at about 10 - 20 km/hr), 46% battery used.
Most of the driving was through forest like this:
Or this:
Or this:
Our first part took us through to a dead end:
Down the hill:
There was a nice view though:
We had a stop for lunch and met some local wildlife:
After lunch, we took another track and met up with some oncoming traffic at a deep rutted muddy area. They were having trouble coming up the hill and were getting stuck. So we offered to help pull them up - the first time I've ever done this. The following 2 videos (no audio) show us pulling out 2 of the vehicles (If the first 10 sec repeats, blame youtube):
First vehicle:
Second vehicle:
And then we had a go down through the mud. Our line was a bit easier, although the logs on the right near the end made things a bit more complex (no audio):
Some mud on the windscreen after:
The final result:
