Remote Start from Key Fob - It Works!

I read the posts in this thread. Followed the directions. Bought a 2025 raptor key with same frequency as then2025 lightning, followed YouTube video. And tested. The results are the raptor fob preheats cab but the remote start function says I need to push the start button upon entering the truck to start the lightning. Is this how the remote start function works? I thought it would remote start the truck like any remote start key fob. Am I missing something? Thank you.

The missing part is since you don’t have a ICE truck, there is no need to start the truck to get climate on. The fob starts climate just like doing remote start from the app.

Get in truck and press Start to drive. Interestingly, no need to press brake on remote starts.

I thought with 24+ trucks the remote start could be done with the original key FOB by pressing the LOCK key three times or something like that?
But maybe it needs a FORD option?

It also seems the owner's manuals refer to preconditioning the cabin as a 'remote start?'

WHAT IS REMOTE START
The system allows you to remotely start
your vehicle and to adjust the interior
temperature according to the settings that
you chose.
Note: If your vehicle is plugged in during the
remote start operation, it will draw power
from the power source and not the vehicle's
battery.
REMOTE START
PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Do not keep electrical
devices plugged in the power point
whenever the device is not in use. Power
points power up during remote start.
REMOTE START LIMITATIONS
Remote start does not work under the
following conditions:
• The alarm horn is sounding.
• The hood is open.
• The vehicle is not in park (P).
• The vehicle is on.
• Remote start has been disabled in the
touchscreen.
• The high voltage or 12 volt battery is
below the minimum operating voltage.
Note: To use remote start with the Ford
Pass, enable the modem. See Connecting
FordPass to the Modem (page 502). To use
remote start with Phone as a Key, enable
the modem and set up Phone As A Key. See
Programming Your Phone (page 75).
