We'll be on the lookout for an electric Silverado with Arizona plates on our next Newfoundland Canada trip!

It's been interesting hearing your experiences with the Silverado, I appreciate it. I do very similar drives to you, same parts of the country (I know most of the charging stops you have on your map!), and I sometimes wonder about the Silverado when I am trying to make long stretches in Montana or on the Navajo Nation, etc. (I don't tow long distances, max is about 40 miles.) But I guess it really comes down to maybe 3-4 very long charges per year that I have to do in the Lightning (going to 95%, say) that I wouldn't have to do in the Silverado ...The truck did fine. We find the Silverado to be less comfortable for long driving days than the Lightning was. The extra range was never necessary and really only once made a big difference.
With the charging station in Kayenta, there’s almost nowhere we couldn’t go in the Lightning that we’ve typically gone in a gassy truck. The only Silverado-enabling trip we think exists anymore is to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. There are no DCFCs between home and there and it’s a 410 mile round trip drive. We know we can do it with a one-night stay at the Jacob Lake RV campsites, but if we didn’t want to do that, we’d have to find some other way to recharge the ~100 miles necessary to get home. It's been interesting hearing your experiences with the Silverado, I appreciate it. So hearing your experience is helpful when I am (rarely) waiting for a charge to finish, in my Lightning, which I freaking love road tripping in. I think you've officially killed off my last remaining Silverado FOMO. Thank you and happy trails!
Completely agree, I've been to all of those places in my Lightning, I was just saying some charging stops can be a bit long. The only real problem I've ever had was once when Kayenta was off line (there was a connection issue, no non-Teslas could charge), and I had to limp back to the Chargepoints in Bluff and around to Gallup, then over to Flag. That added a bit of time, but it was ok because my friend had never bee on the Navajo Nation before so he got a decent tour out of it.With the charging station in Kayenta, there’s almost nowhere we couldn’t go in the Lightning that we’ve typically gone in a gassy truck. But all our trips to Moab and Canyonlands, Colorado, New Mexico, California, Death Valley, etc., etc., etc., are perfectly possible and are in fact fantastic in a Lightning.

North Rim is indeed an issue, but I've not been tempted lately because of the fire.
I know some people who “need” the range of the Silverado Max Range trucks, mostly people who tow long distances. But for most people who use their trucks like most people use trucks, the Lightning a fantastic truck.@SpaceEVDriver
Appreciate your report on the RST EV.
I helped my friend negotiate a 2024 RST MAX range last year. He also has a Cadilac Lyriq.
He has a great home charging deal that Florida Power and Light offered. IT’s $38/ month unlimited off-peak charging and it included a 50-amp EVSE installed at home. Last month he used 1800 kws just charging the EVS. Hell of a deal for only $38.
He is a bit of a cheapskate. He drives 200 miles one way to his dentist, which is a dental school. He makes the 400-mile round trip with 17% remaining. His dentist visits takes him all day, with over 6 hours traveling.
FPL lso has a Silverado EV that they use to tow their mobile trailer to events. They also have a Lightning. They said the same thing, the Lightning is more comfortable, but the Silverado range beat the Lightning range.
